my nuance for my william:

He was gifted an ostentatious purple bathrobe on his birthday, pre-bite of 83. It was meant to be a gag gift, but he did end up wearing it a few times because he knew it would crack Clara up. He would not admit that it was kind of also because the thing was very comfortable and made him feel sort of luxurious.

90s era forty-something year old divorced William barely even remembers he owns it until Tempe unearths it from his closet or whatever and is like PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS. because, despite how ridiculous his taste in fashion naturally is, they cannot fathom him wearing something like that.
