anyway, wow, Tumblr has changed

“You guessed right, I ain’t a kid. I’m.. 38 years old.” At least in wolf years. No reason to be all detailed about how old he actually was. Even if this kid just grew wings and flew down, he had no idea how the boy would react to meeting a werewolf. “So why exactly are you lookin’ for those.. Animas?” 

Hearing the sound of wings and a voice, made the male look up. Only to find some.. Bird boy sitting atop the wall. Listening to him, only made Bandit tilt his head, adjusting the sunglasses he was wearing. “+Animals? What’s that supposed to be?” 

          ❝ Kid did you know I got a call on you for possibly shop-lifting? ❞

                           ᵈᵒ ʸᵒᵘ ˡⁱᵏᵉ ᴹᴵˢᶜᴴᴵᴱⱽᴼᵁˢ ᶜʰᵃʳᵃᶜᵗᵉʳˢ?

          ʰᵒʷ ᵃᵇᵒᵘᵗ ᶜʰᵃʳᵃᶜᵗᵉʳˢ ʷⁱᵗʰ ᵃⁿⁱᵐᵃˡ ˡⁱᵏᵉ ᶠᵉᵃᵗᵘʳᵉˢ?

                              ʷᵉˡˡ ᵗʰᵉⁿ! ᶜᵒᵒʳᵒ ⁱˢ ᵖᵉʳᶠᵉᶜᵗ ᶠᵒʳ ʸᵒᵘ!

     An orphan. That is normal around here. “Me neither,” Nic answers as they round a corner. He puts a hand on Cooro’s shoulder and nudges him slightly to the other edge of the sidewalk as they pass a group of shady-looking men. After they are far enough away he lets go of Cooro’s shoulder.

     “Thoze wings… You were born with'em or what?”

{ ✫ } He does not expect the touch that presents itself as they pass by a group of men. If needed (if they were attacked) Cooro would be capable of protecting himself (though not against a group of grown men). He knew some hand-to-hand combat and his wings allowed him an easy escape route. Even though he didn’t think he needed it, the crow still appreciated the gesture. 

     Rather than answer, Nicolas shoots the kid an exasperated look. If he can’t use a phone, and Nic can’t — he and Worick don’t have one of those fancy ones with accessibility features — then they’re back to square one.      “So?” retorts the Twilight while starting to walk towards his apartment. If freak upsets Cooro, he’s going to have a rough time in Ergastulum. …And it is for that reason that Nicolas makes sure to stay close to him as they make their way down the street.      “Got any family? Could help ya find ‘em.”

“Oh, we got a confident one here!”

[—He speaks to no one in particular, his red wings opening as those eyes shined a bit.]

“Think your faster than me huh? Pick a goal then! There’s gotta be a place in your mind, yeah?”

{ ✫ } “Oh, wow, your wings are awesome!” Cooro always had time to appreciate his fellow bird's wings. The red color looked gorgeous, though he still preferred his own jet-black ones.

{ ✫ } “We both have wings!” He exclaimed. “Which means we haveta race! I bet I’m faster!” 

     He doesn’t WANT to sacrifice the pork tenderloin he and Worick are saving, but kids have to eat. He can spare a sandwich or something. Who knows how far away Cooro is from home. Flying is… probably tiring, right…? He can’t just leave the kid on the street. Dumb thing doesn’t even know how dangerous his own existence is.

     “…Hm. Got some food at th'apartment,” Nicolas says, “an’ a phone. Kin call yer parents. Hide yer wings ‘n’ don’t fly 'round here. People ain’t nice ta freaks.”

{ ✫ } “What’s a phone?” His jet-black wings disappear as they tuck back into the skin on his shoulder blades. The only remaining marks that showed they had once been there being his feather-like tattoos. He’s completely oblivious to the fact that following a stranger into their hoime could be dubbed as dangerous as this was something he did on the norm, just to survive, as he had no place to call home. 

what did he do to deserve this? Jomei really had no idea what to do with children despite spending an extended amount of time as one. “I…uh…guess I could give you something.” he paused, turning and gesturing for the kid to follow him to a nearby store for sustenance.    “and i’m not tired.”
