Another set of OC questions!
For my baby Stella now. I really don't know enough about her...
So what's her favorite color?
Does she have a job/what are her plans for the future?
What does she look like, and how does it differ by iteration?
Does she want to get married, or have kids? Or is she more career oriented?
What's her love language? How does she receive love the best?
What does she like to do when she's not busy? How does she fill her time?
Does she have any prominent injuries, or scars?
What's her backstory? Does she have any family? If anything were to ever happen to her, who would she call first?
How does she express her emotions? Does she do better with words, or writing, or actions, or a mix of multiple?
Is she the protective one, or is she the one more likely to need protection?
What's her biggest character flaw?
And what's her greatest strength?
I'll be back with more for Ash next time, don't lock your windows
Sounds great, I won't lock my windows. I barely remember they're there until you remind me. I'll answer for most iterations. Also, I just want you to know that while this took so much longer than it should have, I'm so glad that you asked these. It means a lot.
1: (What's her favorite color?)
(2003, 2007, 2012) Purple and blue
2/4: (Does she have a job/what are her plans for the future? Does she want to get married, or have kids? Or is she more career oriented?) Oh, this is such a loaded question for most iterations.
(2003 and 2012) No job until post-canon, which is her working at a daycare center run by a friend of hers. She yearns to be married and have kids, but she's terrified of turning out like her mother. She feels slightly better about the idea of being married after dating Leo for a while, but she's still terrified of having kids until her early-mid twenties. Her plans for the future by then are being with Leo, maybe kids someday if she’s ever stable enough for them (mentally).
(2007) She has a job, she works with children. She finished school and took some time to help a friend with relief work (starts wiggling eyebrows because this is how she meets Leo). She comes home to start teaching after. She wants to get married to someone she loves, to have kids. She wants to be well-established before having kids, so that everything is secure. She does worry about turning out like her mom, very resentful of her kid(s), but it’s nowhere near as bad as 2003/2012Stella.
Her plans for the future didn't originally include four mutant turtles and their people (Splinter, April, Casey, etc), but she quickly adjusts after falling in love with this dysfunctional found family she’s stumbled into. Her plans for the future is her found family, continuing her job.
(2018/Rise) In all seriousness, Stella doesn’t think about her future seriously until Post-Invasion. It was a day in-day out sorta thing. She’s happy with Leo and everybody else, that’s what matters. Post-Invasion she starts thinking about how she never got to go to school, how she wants to get back to helping people. She’s not sure how though.
She had never once thought about having a family before getting out of Organization 14. It was just so far outside of what she was told that she was for (creating peace). It didn't really become a thing until Post-Invasion. She thought she had all of the time in the world to figure out what her life with Leo was gonna look like, then Leo almost died and that snapped things into perspective in a way that they hadn't been before. She wanted to marry him, to have a life that's theirs. Not right then (they're 18-19 years old), but sometime sooner rather than later.
3: (What does she look like, and how does it differ by iteration?) So her eye color (blue-grey) and skin tone are the same in every iteration (she's just a bit tanner in 2007 and paler in the beginning of Rise). Oh, she also has freckles in 2003 and 2012, but not 2007 and Rise (don't ask, I don't know). The main thing that differs is her hair:
(2003 and 2012) Strawberry blonde
(2007) Blonde with red highlights
5: (What's her love language? How does she receive love the best?) I have gone back and forth on 2003/2007/2012's for so long. Because she has such a complicated relationship with physical affection. She craves it, but at the same time it's something that was used against her in such a way that she won't ask for it. Uh... angst in your supposed to be happy question, MB.
(2003, 2007, and 2012) Words of affirmation/physical touch
(2018/Rise) Physical touch/words of affirmation
6: (What does she like to do when she's not busy? How does she fill her time?) So reading, gaming, and watching tv are the across all iterations answer to this. What she’s reading/playing/watching depends on the iteration but the hobbies that fill the time are the same.
7: (Does she have any prominent injuries or scars?) So this is something that also differs per iteration. Most of the time she doesn't get many prominent injuries or scars until mid-post canon. 2007 doesn’t have any prominent injuries or scars yet, but that might change when I start diving into her story in 07 more.
(2012) (mentions of child abuse) Stella has a lot of little scars/marks from various accidents or fights, but prominent scars she only has two. She has one on the underside of her jaw; a small but jagged scar that she got when a bottle was thrown against the wall and glass went flying, and cut her when she was around 12. (This one happens pre-canon but it’s something that gets brought up a few times.) The other is one that starts below her left collarbone and goes to her right shoulder, from a fight with Xever who was using Leo’s sword that he has dropped. (I got the writing tidbit somewhere, I really should post it.)
(2003) While this iteration is mostly a concept for Stella than an actual plan, she has the same pre-canon scar as 2012. I’m also thinking about her getting the second 2012 one too, but obviously different opponent and circumstance.
(2018/Rise) (mentions of torture) So due to Stella’s abilities, it makes it harder to scar. She has a small burn scar on her back near her right shoulder blade from the torture Organization 14 did when she betrayed them to help Leo and the other Turtles get away (the machine went a little haywire which is how she ended up with the scar at all). She also has a small thin scar on her left hand from a cat scratch, something she got before her powers were developed.
8: (What's her backstory? Does she have any family? If anything were to ever happen to her, who would she call first?) So we have 3 backstory options. Gotta catch 'em all /silly
(2003 and 2012) (TW: mentions of child neglect/abuse, alcohol abuse) Her dad died when she was young (8) and she was left with an absent and when she was present, alcoholic and abusive mother. She goes to school with April and Casey. She mostly stays out of her house and that's actually how she meets the Turtles. Who she'd call depends on what happened. If it requires going to a hospital or bail, she calls April (or later Ash). If it doesn't require either of those, she's calling Leo. The amount of times Leo's gotten in trouble for sneaking out because she's gotten herself into something she can't get herself out of is ridiculous.
(2007) (TW: mentions of alcohol abuse and death by alcohol) Her dad died when she was around 6 and her mom drank herself into an early grave a few years after the death of her dad. Stella stayed with her aunt and uncle who helped her be better adjusted, but it still wasn't a great living experience. Her aunt is also the reason she went into teaching (her aunt is a teacher). And Donnie is who she would call first if something happened. Good fun fact to know about my 2007 AU is that you should always call Donnie first. If you need hospital, bail, or something else the requires a human he will redirect you to the best human to assist you. If you need a Turtle or just someone to come help you out of a sticky situation, he will let the best qualified people know.
(2018/Rise) (TW: mentions of human experimentation, torture, child abuse) Stella was kidnapped from her parents at around 3 years old. She was used as a test subject for infusing humans with mystics. She has trauma blocked anything before she was 8 years old because of how much pain she was in and the horrors she was experiencing. Her body finally started settling and reacting the way the scientists that took her wanted, and they treated her like she was so important. They trained her tactfully, so she never questioned that they were helping her and that they were the good guys. They kept telling her stories about the people she’d be able to help once she was older/stronger and that’s what she wanted to do. Who she would call in a crisis? There's a group chat and she calls that. Whoever answers first between the boys can help.
9: (How does she express her emotions? Does she do better with words, or writing, or actions, or a mix of multiple?)
So this is actually the same regardless of iteration. Her communication style is words and actions when she’s comfortable expressing her emotions. A lot of when she’s younger (so not 2007), you get to see how she grows into being more comfortable with expressing how she’s feeling. She grew up in a home that expressing your emotions was always “an attack” on the other person. She has no problem expressing emotions is she doesn’t care if the other person feels attacked, but if she cares then she struggles at first. Once she’s comfortable though, she’s pretty good at talking her feelings out as long as she understands them. When she doesn’t understand them, isn’t ready for others to know, she’s right back to that masking it.
10: (Is she the protective one, or is she the one more likely to need protection?)
Oh, her and Leo play the game "Who's the Most Protective One?" and consistently are one upping each other. In the sense of needing physical protection, she's more likely in need of protection. Emotionally and mentally, she's the more protective one.
11: (What's her biggest character flaw?)
Her stubbornness/pride, for sure. It gets her into the most problems and solves the least.
12: (And what's her greatest strength?)
I think it’s her perseverance. In every iteration she's always bouncing back, and helping the others bounce back.
