On September 17th, 2007, 14-year-old Andrew Gosden, who was described by his teachers as both a math and computer genius, mysteriously vanished. On that Friday morning, he left his home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, on the pretense that he was going to catch the bus to school, but instead of doing so, he went right back home as soon as his parents left for work. There, he changed out of his school uniform and walked to a local store sporting a simple t-shirt and jeans to withdraw ÂŁ200 ($245) from his savings account at an ATM. Andrew subsequently headed to the train station where he purchased a one-way ticket to London. The ticket-seller recounted how the boy had insisted on a single ticket, despite the fact that it would have only costed him ÂŁ1.00 more for a return ticket. A passenger on the train at around 9:45 AM recalls sitting next to a quiet boy that was that absorbed in his video game console who matched Andrewâs description. Andrew was captured on a CCTV camera positioned outside of the train station in London at around 11:20 AM, and that was the last confirmed sighting of the young boy. Many speculations have been asserted as to why Andrew withdrew hundreds of dollars from his bank account, why he was so adamant on having a one-way ticket, and what business he had in London. Some theorize that perhaps Andrew was meeting someone in London. Others think Andrew went to London to commit suicide, or to run away.Â
Leaked images of Stephen Paddockâs body and his hotel room, who unleashed an attack on concert goers from the window, killing 59 people and wounding over 500 more. Police recovered 23 more guns from his room and believe he used ten suitcases to smuggle them in. Sitting on the table by his feet appears to be a piece of paper and pen, which many speculate is a suicide note. However, police state that no letter of any sorts has been left behind and are still struggling to find a motive for the deadly attack.

Solitary confinement is an extension of imprisonment in which an inmate is held without any human contact beyond roll call interaction with staff, and denied movement within the facility. In other words, the prisoner sits entirely alone in their cell without anybody to talk to or anything to do for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Colloquial names for being in solitary confinement are â âThe hole, the SHU, AdSegâ and so on. There are many names for solitary among inmates. Time spent in solitary can be a result of many situations. It can be a form of punishment for fighting or breaking the rules, and it can also be a form of protective custody, either for the inmate who is being held or to protect the general population of the prison from a violent or unstable inmate. In high security federal prisons, the architecture of the building and cell structure within the facility is designed to block sunlight patterns so that inmates cannot determine their location through tracking the sun and potentially plan an escape. Sometimes inmates in solitary confinement are allowed outside to exercise in the outside air, but they are often locked in cages that are typically 8x10 or smaller. If the particular inmate in solitary confinement is allowed any sort of visit, it is always no contact (through glass) and typically visits last no longer than two hours.
