“Are you saying you wouldn’t tell the rest of our family where you live?”

“It’s never a bad thing to learn about yourself. Too many people don’t learn about themselves until it’s too late.”

“You know, Cress, for someone who thinks they are so smart, you’d think you’d know that being a heathen doesn’t mean that you are irresponsible, and, simply indulging ourselves every now and again doesn’t make us irresponsible either.”

“I can’t believe you’re actually inviting me to crash your bachelorette pad.”

“Can I come visit sometime?”

“Did you get somewhere to live too?”

“Do you promise?”

Peter clung to her silently for several minutes before he could even find it in him to speak. “Please don’t go away again.”

Peter just let out a sharp whine when Cressida mentioned her time away. He didn’t like to think about any separation between his family, not even if it was in the past or only hypothetical for the future. It mostly just made him shut down. All at once he lunged at Cressida, giving her a bear hug.

“I mean.. we’ve all got a lot of feelings. I think that’s for certain.”

“That’s not really a bad thing, is it?”’

“I wouldn’t want to bore you with my drama. Let’s change the subject. What have you been up to?”

“Your hair is fine. You’re just being dramatic.”
