CASS   IS     BOTH    WRONG    AND    RIGHT .    she   doesn’t    need    you    ,   true  .   but   you    made    her    happier   .  you   know   you   did   ,   you   were    able    to    tell    from    the   first    time    SHE   LAUGHED  .     she   was    always   stoic   and   usually    about    business   ,   but   with   you  ,   she   LOOSENED  UP  .   ‘   before   ,    you    didn’t    have    anyone    except    your   dad   ,   and    i   had   gothel   .    were    things    good    for    you    before    i   came  ?    you    make    it    sound    like   i    ruined    your    life   .   ’   is    that    how    she’s    seeing    things  ?   ‘   do    you    really     think    you’d    be    happier    if   i  didn’t   exist  ?   you   saw   how    she    treated    you  ,   and   still ,   you’d    want    to    have    her    back    as   a    mother  ?   over    ME   as    a    friend  ?  ?   ’

Things were never good per se . . . Before Rapunzel the captain was fixated on his job. Even if he still did leave time for Cassandra. && she was thankful of that. Her father cared about her in every way even if she wanted to deny that fact. Of course he was no King Frederic but he still showed that he cared in his own way. Cassandra just ??? WISHED that he would view her less of his ‘ little girl ’ or a fragile doll that would break upon impact . && seen her accomplishments , how HARD && LONG that she had trained to be considered even a little bit worthy of a position on the guard. All of those days && nights spent restlessly preparing for what ??? To be a handmaiden for the lost princess of pep ?? That was harsh if it was in her mind. Of course Cassandra wasn’t happy to be Rapunzel’s caretaker but BUT ... A beautiful friendship had blossomed from it. Minus Eugene. && Raps was RIGHT she did loosen Cass up SHE DID SHOW HER SHE CARED COUNTLESS TIMES BUT CASSANDRA CHOSE TO IGNORE IT. She ruined her own life with the decision to commit treason. Betray her best friends trust. She made a face , the one that indicated that she was thinking about what Rapunzel said , that she was WRONG && had been caught. “ She was a terrible mother , and a cruel woman. To both of us. It wasn’t your choice to be kidnapped no. But BUT she had no excuse to treat her own daughter the way that she did. OR CHOOSE YOU OVER ME. ” Her tone mellowed , defeated. Now it was time to search for a way ANY WAY out of there. Still of no knowledge of the missing mirror in Rapunzel’s satchel.

    Hues dart away guiltily and she nonchalantly chew at the inside of her cheek. Her focus on one of the many mirrors depicting her mother giving herself compliments on how amazing she looked. There she is in the background . . . SWEEPING. Hurt positively courses through her chest at thought of having to clean that damned cabin. Teeth grit behind closed lips. She didn’t need THIS both Rapunzels’ lecturing and staring at herself slave away for a woman who didn’t show a smidge of love or appreciation to her nor Rapunzel. She remember her father for a moment . . . Recall how frightened && heartbroken she was when— when GOTHEL LEFT HER FOR DEAD. The safety of his helmet , the comfort && hope that his words brought when it seemed all lost. The day which the lost princess had returned was triumphant even she found herself in celebration of that glorious occasion. Never did Cass think she would get stuck babysitting her as a lady-in-waiting. In which she would like to think of her position as more of an appointed knight ! The lost lagoon . . . They sure did have some good times outside of the castle and Corona as well . . . Then come the bad , she was UNDERESTIMATED. She was always SECOND PLACE. She was UNTRUSTWORTHY. && she was SICK OF IT. Cassandra push back the sting of tears that would threaten to fall. The time for crying was OVER. Fury bubbled in her blood. Then she open her mouth to speak. Even if she knew whatever come out would be wrong. “ There it is again Rapunzel. Together. I don’t want to be BETTER TOGETHER. I want to be good BY MYSELF. I don’t need you ! I NEVER DID ! ” Lies Lies she did need her but not in the way that Raps would assume. Cassandra would be the first to move out of the room in a fit of rage. She couldn’t take this out with rocks due to the sulfur deposits underground. Her plan wasn’t to poison herself or the princess.

    Heat make rosy cheeks an even darker pigmentation than usual. The alcohol was doing it’s job. Impulsiveness would be at its peak now but Cassandra wouldn’t let herself get to that point. She knew how to hold her alcohol. Now that they were stuck on this island . . . Well there was no time better for a drink by the fire. && Cass never left Corona without at least a flask for when times got too rough for a sober mind to take. Her and Rapunzel have gotten into deep conversations about their personal lives before. So this was normal she supposed. Cass had to think about it for a moment. Recall the time thoroughly enough to explain it. One of which she wished she had forgotten by the use of magic or some shit. She swish the liquid around looking at it , then at a very intrigued Rapunzel. It almost caused her to flush even more so.

  “ My first kiss ? Ah well It’s . . . Fuzzy. But it didn’t mean anything. There wasn’t any feeling in it. If that’s what you were searching for. We were teenagers and it was just an experiment anyway. ”

     Saying that made her chest feel hallow. She didn’t care about the girl not even in the slightest. If anything , Cass was only used to test a girls sexuality. She’s had flings which all turned to be insecure heterosexual women to her dismay. There really wasn’t a good selection it being JUST Corona. Calloused fingers run themselves through unkempt curls.

    Surprise hit her like a horse drawn carriage. She knew Rapunzel could be bold and assertive especially since Pascal && Max decided to hit them with the personality switch elixir. Thinking about it began to boil her blood. Yes Raps was the princess. Yes she was somewhat obligated to tell her how she was feeling and what was bothering her but— Cassandra was someone you would describe as closed off. This would only be the fault of having a serious lack of friends. Yes she HAD friends. If you considered only attending their special occasions a thing friends would do. Other than that her father and Rapunzel are the only two others that would fit under that certain category. Even minus her father because . . . He’s her father. Loneliness began to swell at the pit of her stomach. While brows knit together tightly. Lips pulled their way into a scowl. If Rapunzel wanted to get inside her walls THAT BAD this wasn’t the way.

   Heart was racing && they were surrounded with angry and frightened townsfolk. Her hands hold the brittle paper with lies and deceit. Cassandra wasn’t the bad guy in this story ?? Was she ??? Even she herself wasn’t positive of the answer anymore. Whatever heat that was left in her veins began to rise to pale cheeks. Vision shake and a DEFENSIVE stance hold its ground. Cassandra was more closed off && lost than she had ever been especially with Rapunzel. She wanted to so bad deny that the enemy was her , so bad go on with her plans to get her rightful dues . . . Though her mentality said otherwise and was suddenly changed upon seeing how , coronians she’s known her whole life , viewed her. A step back , then another. She wanted to change now that it was her being painted a villain. Now that all of her friends changed their minds about her for not holding her tongue any longer than she already had. But that . . . Just said something about the way people WHO SHE TRUSTED thought.
