What he actually delivered was a confession: you donāt spend your evenings bracing for an indictment unless some quiet part of you already knows what youāve done. A reckoning is coming for the people breaking the law for this president, and they can feel it.ā

ā Federal agents with Homeland Security Investigations tracked down Rochester, NY resident David Streever last month at his home. He was out of town, so they gave his wife a warning notice claiming that he had potentially violated the law when he wrote a harsh email months earlier to Todd Lyons, who stepped down as the acting director of ICE at the end of May.
Not satisfied with tracking down his home, the government agents apparently accessed his credit card records to find out what hotel he was staying at and delivered another notice there.
By keeping tabs on his movements, they're sending an even more sinister threat ā we're watching you, and we can get you whenever we want. Nowhere is safe for you.
They're threatening to arrest Streever because he wrote to Lyons' government email address on Jan. 26 after federal immigration officers in Minneapolis murdered two U.S. citizen observers during the immigration enforcement surge there.
The three-paragraph note compared Lyons to a Nazi and predicted that Lyons would be tormented by his own conscience.
The Trump administration has made it clear that our Freedom of Speech is under attack.
They have taken aggressive actions against student protesters, and political critics, including arresting journalists, and coercing media and universities into suppressing opposing viewpoints.
Now they are threatening our Freedom of Speech ā the freedoms of private citizens like you and me.
And all of this is made much worse because of the spineless Republicans in control of Congress. Not only are they doing nothing to stop it, they are actually encouraging it. Republicans have handed their congressional power over to Trump. They do whatever he tells them to do.
It's one thing if we don't want to get involved in minor policies we don't agree with. But it's an entirely different thing to watch in real time as our Free Speech is being taken away, ...and then do nothing about it. We can't let that happen.

A person was killed Monday in an ICE-involved shooting in Biddeford, Maine, according to the stateās speaker of the house ā just days after a federal agent fatally shot a Mexican immigrant during a traffic stop in Houston, sparking mass protests and demands for transparency and accountability.
āA person was killed. ICE was involved. State Police and the Department of Public Safety are now on scene to gather details and would expect the FBI to investigate as well,ā Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau said in a statement on Facebook. āThese are the details that I have at this time. I will provide further updates, as they are relayed to me.ā
Biddeford police told CNN there was a āpolice incidentā in the area, about 18 miles south of Portland, and said there is no threat to the public at this time, but declined to provide additional details.
Maine Democratic Gov. Janet Mills said in a statement that she had been briefed on the fatal shooting and that federal officials were cooperating with state leaders.
"I know that situations like these are alarming and frightening," Mills said. "The Maine State Police are at the scene supporting and working cooperatively with the Attorney General's Office, Maine's Office of Chief Medical Examiner, and Federal officials to determine the facts of what occurred this morning."
The incident comes less than a week after a man on his way to work in Houston was shot and killed by an ICE agent. Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was killed during a traffic stop in what ICE initially described as a targeted enforcement operation, though a source later said Salgado Araujo was not the target of the operation.
The shooting has reignited calls for accountability among ICE agents, which reached a fever pitch earlier this year after 37-year-old mother Renee Good and 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti were killed by federal immigration agents during the Trump administrationās operation in Minneapolis.
The administration dubbed a similar surge in immigration enforcement across Maine in January āOperation Catch of the Day.ā The ACLU and other advocates filed a lawsuit against federal immigration agents for āabducting a lawful immigrantā during the surge.
Some community groups and advocates that rallied against the surge earlier this year have already started to organize in response to Mondayās shooting. The group āMaine Resistsā has planned an emergency community rally in the city at noon. The racial justice and immigrant rights group Project Relief said it is in touch with the victimās family.
The past several days have taught me that a lot of people think "vetting" a candidate means asking them if they've got any problems and just believing them when they say no.
I'm not going to lie, "He steals the lifeforce of Lindsey Graham to prolong his unnatural existence a few more months out of spite" just straight up didn't occur to me. I really didn't see that one coming.

"Lindsey Graham died a coward. His three-decade career in national politics should be remembered for more than his shameless, pusillanimous capitulations ā but not, unfortunately, for some noble pursuit or purpose he used his chameleon-like political skills to secure.
