Regardless, at some point toward the end of the book, I had jokingly came up with the idea of casting everyone in my class as different characters in the book for if it was a play—and I wrote all of who I thought should be who on the board while chattering about it to some of my class-mates. And at some point when I asked who I should be after laughing for a while, a girl in my class said I should be Jack. Curiously, and surprised, I asked why—to which she responded that I had always laughed whenever a character died, and therefore it was fair that I ought to be him.

..I also did jokingly draw a tombstone on the board at some point with the caption Simon next to it—and an arrow directly pointing at it so it was obviously his tombstone. So maybe it was a fair answer in the end./lh
