“A while ago, I was into dungeons and dragons. I was on a discord call with one of my friends when I dropped my favorite d20. I looked for it, but it wasn’t anywhere. Tore my room apart. I gave up, pulled out another and kept playing. I went downstairs a few hours later and, directly under where I had dropped it in my room, it was sitting perched on the TV table. It was on 20. I asked my parents and sister, but nobody touched it. I saw that table several times before I found the die, and it wasn’t there.”

“A couple years back, Monticello had their first reenactment and I was chosen to play Patsy Jefferson, their eldest daughter. So after the first one of the weekend, one of my fellow reenactors takes me to explore the places under Monticello, and at one point, he takes a picture of me where the light shows me perfectly, no shadows, no nothing, but the rest is dark. 

After he takes the picture, we look at it to find shadows on my face that weren’t there before, they also looked like a skeletal face had covered mine. It still amazes us to this day.”

It started out with just hearing creaks and footsteps, until one night at dinner, my sister’s eyes went completely blank. She started sobbing and talking about how she could “see her” and “she was trying to get in”. This freaked us all out a bit, but my sister is prone to panicking so we figured it might just be that. After this event, she couldn’t remember anything except the feeling of pure terror from that moment. 

A few days later, we heard a series of crashes. My sister keeps all her figurines and trinkets lined up on her windowsill, and something had knocked them all down in a domino-esque fashion while she’d been sleeping. She slept on a cot in my room from then on, with the door closed, but we’d hear banging on the door from the other side often. At one point, we left the door open, and I woke up with something sleeping next to me. I thought it was my dog until I looked up and nothing was there except for a dent on the bed like someone was laying down. I pushed the thing off and the dent went away. 

We had multiple people sleep over and claim that a little girl had gotten in bed with them. Some of them even asked if one of us had slept in their bed. After all this, we decided to research our house, and it turned out that a little girl was brutally killed by a man who used to live in our house in the early 1900s. A few days before we moved out (for unrelated reasons), I went up to my room to get my boxes. I saw a weird shadow and I heard a voice as clear as my own saying ‘it hurts, make them leave, kill them’ and other things like that. I said it was okay and it was over now before running down the stairs. 

Creepy ass Victorian houses. Damn.”

“So when I was a little girl, my mom and dad broke up because my dad wanted to be with his now Fiancé, Melanie. So they live in a safe neighborhood in the good part of North Carolina. I’ve always had paranormal experiences as a kid. I was 12 years old and I was with my little sister at the time.

So their house is two levels.The bedrooms and a bathroom were usptairs. So Leah (little sister) and I were in our bedroom with the door wide open around 2am. We were watching PBS kids and we heard footsteps running up and down the stairs. We thought it was nothing.

A hour goes by and I close the door, while Leah is asleep. But all of the sudden the door opens wide and I see this figure walking down the stairs. I couldn’t sleep that night and to this day I still hate going to his house.”

“Warning: anti-climactic

So when I was a kid (age 6), my family and I went to church every Sunday. During service one day, I decided I had to use the bathroom, so I left to go upstairs where the restrooms were. It was incredibly quiet, since no one was in this part of the building but me.

The bathroom stalls were odd. In order to close the door, you had to pull on it and wedge it between the frame. It wasn’t difficult to do, I just thought it was weird.I don’t know if it was the angle or the way they were built, but the doors were always shut, whether someone was in the stall or not. Even if you left one open, it would slowly swing closed by itself.

I bent down to look under the first stall and saw no feet, so I chose that one. While I was finishing up in there, I started hearing a woman humming. I paused and listened because I was sure no one else was in there, but didn’t understand how I would hear her from outside the room either. It didn’t even sound like an actual song or tune. It sounded like cut off pieces of different songs, or like someone who seriously didn’t know what music really sounded like. At that point, I was thinking she must have entered the bathroom right after me and I hadn’t noticed. It seemed she was in the stall next to mine. I thought it was weird, but continued what I was doing. The humming stopped and I figured she left. As I buttoned my pants, I heard the humming again. Confused, I stopped and listened. She hadn’t left? I looked under the stall to try to see her shoes. Sometimes I could tell who people were based on their shoes. There were no feet next to my stall or next to that one. This restroom only had three, by the way. It was small.

I thought she was in front of the sinks. I left my stall to find no one in front of the sinks. The humming stopped. I crouched down to look under all three stalls. Nothing. I was washing my hands when I heard it again, and it was definitely coming from one of the stalls. I dried off and glanced outside the restroom to see if someone was in the hall. No one, and I could hear the priest in the other room speaking. Whatever I was hearing was not coming from the service.

I stepped back inside the restroom and glanced around, trying to figure out where it was coming from. The humming had stopped again, but it was really bothering me that I couldn’t understand what was happening. I also wasn’t in a hurry to get back to the service, honestly. I stood in silence, and after a minute or two, the humming resumed. I crouched down and looked under the stalls again only to find nothing.

I approached the first stall, the one I had been in, and pushed the door open. It became quiet again. There was no one, but that was expected. The second one I was scared to inspect, but my curiosity was strong. I forced myself to open the second door and found nothing. My fear intensified at the thought of opening the third door, so I stood in front of it for a moment. I quickly pushed it open and skittered away from it, even though there was nothing there either.

I pressed myself against the far wall, panting and staring in confusion. There was absolutely nothing here. Maybe I had been imagining it because I was bored?

I heard the humming again, louder. It sounded like it was coming from the middle stall. I stood still and waited for it to stop, but this time it didn’t. I grew anxious enough to run out of there and get back to the service. I didn’t use that restroom for two years after that, and then when I did, I always chose a time when lots of other people were in there so I wouldn’t be left alone.

So yeah, maybe a bit uneventful, but as a coward and a 6 year old, I was scared. Thinking about it still gives me an eerie feeling, but I doubt it was really anything sinister, paranormal or not.”

When I was in high school, for my first two years and before I moved to a different state, I had a friend named… let’s call him Drew. 

Drew was fun! He came over to my house, and we would watch goosebumps and I would cook for him. Well, the more time we spent together and the more I learned about him, I learned about the cat statue he had. 

Now in high school I was fairly into paranormal things. I know a whole bunch about it, and a know how to keep haunted objects from causing mischief. You’ll need to keep this in mind for later. 

So the cat statue. Apparently, it was a family heirloom passed down through 3 generations of Drew’s family. Okay. That seemed normal. And then he told me the strange things about it. The statue was given to him when he was a kid, around 8 or 9, and before that nothing ever happened. But as soon as he got it, the weird things started to happen. The statue would never stay in one place–it was constantly moving, and the whole family never knew where it was. So I asked if his siblings had moved it(wanting to help but being skeptical as usual, as he had 3 younger siblings), but the statue was also moved to a very high location where a kid couldn’t reach without help. 

Drew always told me he’d wanted to get rid of it, but because it was given to him by his grandmother who lived states away, he couldn’t bring himself to. He said that it felt off, that this ceramic cast of a statue had an odd aura about it. 

And it kind of went on like that. The statue would disappear for days, and the reappear in strange places; the top of the fridge, in the cereal cabinet, in a sock drawer, in the coat closet, weird places like that. He couldn’t sleep if it was in his room, and sometimes lights wouldn’t turn on. Then the worst of it happened. 

The statue went missing again. The whole family turned over the house looking for it, and couldn’t find it. Drew was yelled at for losing such a valuable family heirloom. I don’t remember why he went to get a game from the closet that day, as it was just him and his mom, but he did. The door wouldn’t open. There was no lock on the door, and he was trying to open it. Confused, he asked for his mom’s help. She couldn’t get it open either, and told Drew to wait until his dad got home, and went back to whatever she had been doing. Frustrated, Drew tried again. And it worked! He got the door open! But then he said the light didn’t work, and he couldn’t figure it out. Just as he was about to close the door and give up, the light suddenly turned on, and the cat statue was sitting on the top shelf of the closet, items moved away from around it. He was so freaked out, that he left the house and came to hang out with me. 

Eventually, a whole bunch of us went over to his house, and me with the double-agenda of checking out that cat. As soon as I walked into his room, I felt off and uneasy, and looked around the corner at the dresser. There was the cat statue. The closer I got, the worse it got, and the more I knew I had to help. Our other friends were with us, and also knew of the cat statue. I remember their smiles dying when they saw my face. 

I went immediately home after that and made a mix of salt to ward of evil, sage to cleanse, and pepper to enhance the power of the herbal mixture. I remember thinking “I have to help,” and feeling absolutely drained after dealing with the herbs(pepper absorbs energy around it to enhance the power of a spell). Herbs in hand, I rushed back to Drew’s house. The gang was still there, and looked relieved when I came in. Drew moved a crucifix to sit on the wall above the cat, and I slowly caged the statue in. I remember accidentally bumping it into the herbs, and feeling a sense of evil. I quickly finished encircling it with the herbs, and said the Lord’s Prayer over it. 

Drew said the activity stopped after that, and that he could sleep at night without feeling like he was being watched. And then a month later, his mom decided to clean the room, and cleaned up the circle of herbs. It started all over again, and much worse than before. 

I had to move before I could fix it again, but I think they finally got rid of the statue a few years later. I haven’t talked to drew in years, but I’ll always remember the panic I saw on his face when he came over to my house that day. 

And a fair warning: never ever do what I did unless you know what you are doing. I worked with herbs previously, and I had a necklace with a protective charm on at the time.”

For a little backstory I work in a nursing home in the housekeeping department and I do the laundry, which is in the basement. I go in at 4:30 am. There’s only me at this time until about 7 when the two maintenance workers come in, their office is at the opposite end of where I am. Sometimes a girl comes in at 7 also to work with me, but other than that I’m alone until 7. 

The basement especially is very haunted. A worker even died inside the laundry room where I work (No joke). I’m not trying to sound crazy but I know ghosts and spirits gravitate towards me. I’ve been told I’m very intuitive and have even had dreams that have come true and predicted things. Anyway so here are some things that have happened.

One time I was walking down the hallway it was very early, I had gone to the bathroom. I was walking back down the hall and I heard footsteps beside me and felt like someone was right there. I whipped around and no one was there.

I was walking out of the laundry room and on one side of the hallway there is clothes for the residents hanging on a rack. There was a few things but not much. I was walking by the wall on the side opposite of the clothes and all the sudden I heard like a metal on mental scratching noise. Like a hanger moving on the metal rack. I turn around and there’s one article of clothing moving like sometime had touched it, just one. Here is a picture of the hallway:

We usually keep the door open to the hallway. I usually open it as soon as I get in the laundry room. There’s a table in the middle and you can see the hallway out of the corner of your eye. I’m standing at the table doing my work and I see this white figure walk by the door and I freeze for a second. Then I go out in the hallway and there is no one there, from that point I keep the door closed until 7. If it by chance was somebody you can hear the hallway door close it’s really loud, I heard nothing. 

Some other little things are that I’ll be in the back in the dirty linen room sorting the clothes to put in the wash. And there are bins inside the laundry room where you put the clean linen in to fold it. The bins are very noisy and squeak. When I’m in the back room sometimes I hear those bins move and I’ll go to the door and look out and nobody is there. Brooms will fall from places where they are securely set. I see things out of the corner of my eye a lot dashing across the room.

Today actually I had just come in and gone upstairs, it was about 4:40am. One of the nurses asked me, ‘did you call here?’ I was confused I said, ‘did I call here? No.’ She asked when exactly I had come in? I said I got there at 4:30. She said at 4 she got a call from the laundry room (the phone tells you what department is calling) and when she picked up it was just a dial tone. A lot doesn’t freak me out but that did. 

When I pay stuff like that more attention more stuff happens. I walked passed a room before I went downstairs and heard someone walking I looked in and no one was there, a broom crashed to the floor in the laundry room and I kept seeing things out of the corner of my eye after she told me about the phone thing. I usually brush most of the things off but a few freak me out. 

That’s just some of the things I’ve experienced and I know other people in the building have seen and heard some things too.

Now here are just a few things I’ve personally experienced and my brothers real quick in my house. We all believe my room is haunted. When you go in there you just feel like someone is watching you and it’s this intense feeling. When my brothers were younger they heard a baby crying in the hallway. When I was little my mom would sleep with me sometimes and I had my back turned to her and woke up. It sounded like she was talking in the hall but when I turned over she was sleeping next to me. 

In my bed I have felt like a cat was jumping and walking on my bed and when I looked over my cat was sleeping on the floor. If me and my mom went on vacation my brother would sometimes sleep in my bed with my dog cause that’s where she sleeps. He told me he felt little cat footprints walking all around him but when he looked my cat again was on the floor. He’s seen a dark figure and other things have happened. 

I went into my photos on my iPhone one morning and saw that somehow a weird picture had been taken when I was sleeping. Just the other night I woke up and felt like someone was looking at me and I saw the outline of a women. That’s just some of the things I’ve experienced.”

I was abouttt 8 or 9 when this happened, and I had been really sick with a bad cold or something and one night, I was having trouble getting comfortable enough to go to sleep. My bed was in the middle of the room facing my desk/bookshelf, and at the top of my bookshelf, I had about seven or so stuffed animals. I don’t remember too much else about the room, only that and the fact my cousin (she would’ve been about 12 - 13) was on the floor in a sleeping bag across the room.

So I’m trying to get to sleep, looking around my room, when I casually notice my stuffed animals are moving. And it’s weird to describe, but it’s like they were having a conversation (like with head tilting, turning their heads side to side or up and down) and it was slowish. I wasn’t scared at all because it was almost like if you went to a puppet show or something and the puppets are just doing mundane, vaguely comical things for entertainment I can’t describe it lol. Anyway, I didn’t hear anything, but i watched them for about fifteen minutes before I verbally asked them ‘What are you all talking about?’ And then everything stopped, and eventually I managed to drift off to sleep.

For years (I’m 22 now) I was convinced that whole thing was just me being a silly kid and I had a cold so I was pretty sure it was probably a fever or something giving me weird dreams, but my cousin, when talking about that house, asked me if I remembered that time I was sick and ‘that lady came in and made my toys play talk.’ I never saw a person in my room, just the stuffed animals moving, but apparently my cousin saw someone reaching up and moving my toys around and looking back towards me, but she wasn’t sure if *she* was awake or asleep and she, also, didn’t feel afraid.

So either we shared a very bizarre dream, or something I don’t even know, but it’s weird.”

“Trigger warnings: Death, mention of death

So back in November, our best friend (let’s call her L to make this easier) died in a car crash. It was just sad because she was our best friend and she was only 20. So recently we went to visit L’s family, since we’re still close and it’s a nice feeling to get over the fact that she’s dead. And her mom told us a few interesting things.

A few days before L’s death, she had a dream where her mother was carrying a urn and crying. And her family visiting. Yet she was invisible and no one could hear her. Two days after that dream, she got into that crash. After the funeral and cremation. The mother brought back the urn with L’s ashes and processed to cry and telling all the family visiting to leave. Just like in L’s dream. It wasn’t till a bit later that the mother realized L had dreamed of the aftermath of her death.

A few days after L’s ashes are brought home, a mysterious note showed up on her desk. Mind you, we had been in her room after the funeral. Her desk was messy but there was no paper of any kind on the desk. The note had writing in pencil and blue ink on top of the pencil. And the weird thing is that it was filled with answer to the questions her mom was asking her (mom still talks out loud to L sometimes). The mom was singing amazing grace and long and behold there’s a few lines of amazing grace. The mom had asked what color urn L wanted. Blue or purple. Long and behold, blue ink and random section saying “blue….blue…..blue”. And it’s definitely L’s writing. 6 years of seeing her writing, I know it’s hers. 

L’s mom though she was going crazy cause not just one, but TWO notes appeared. The second one was more incoherent than the first one. Which makes us think it’s an evil spirit taking advantage of L’s mothers sadness.

One more thing. Whenever someone walks into L’s room. Some weird thing will happen. Either her bed will squeak, which only happens if someone sit on it. Or the bird in there will go crazy. Or her closet door will move. It’s just weird. I don’t know what to think of all of it. But it makes for a good story so long and behold…

TL;DR: Friend dies in car crash. Turns out she saw the aftermath of her death a few days before her death. Two weird notes appear in her room. And weird things happen in her rooms.”

My brother was very… uptight. He thought he knew everything, ya know, one of those guys. Not anymore. Him and my mom were driving home one day (I live right next to a farm, my house is in the woods) and my brother was arguing about something I don’t know what, but he suddenly stops when the start to pass the farm field. My mom looks over and she said she immediately stepped on the gas. They both saw a man, dressed in all black, standing on the side of the road. When my mom sped up, my brother turned around and he wasn’t there anymore.

A couple years later, my friend drove up to my house, and was crying when she got out of her car... she saw the same guy standing at the top of my road.

We never found out if he was real or not but it was sure as hell creepy.”

So I was like 7 when this happened and my brother was 13. Me and my brother used to love watching Paranormal Activity and scary shows at night. We used to scare each other, taking inspiration from the shows and such.

One time after binge watching a whole season of a scary show, we were getting ready for bed. He was brushing his teeth and I was waiting behind him so I could brush afterwards. We have a window in our bathroom that we would open (that led to our backyard we also didn’t have an air conditioner in our bathroom) and we would close it after we finished brushing our teeth.

Well that night, I was waiting for my turn to brush my teeth. I was sitting on the toilet lid looking out our open window. My brother was drying his face when we hear a loud crash outside. My brother and I look out the window and we see a man. Mind you that my mom and dad were in the living room. But the scary thing about it was that the man was mowing the lawn with a Cross on his back. The man turned his face towards us, and I swear me and my brother nearly passed out. Cause it looked very similar to the supposedly ‘ghost’ that we saw on our show earlier.

After that, we continued watching our scary shows and continued seeing the man in the most random-est places. Me and my brother are way older now and grew out of watching scary shows and the lawnmower dude never appeared again. But I’m still worked up about it.”

it’s me again, I’m back from hibernation. excuses under the cut.

I live in what used to be the old rectory (a priest’s home) right behind a church. I’m also working at the power plant in town. I’m convinced that either I’m haunted or this whole town is. It’s probably both. When I lived in Washington I lived in a neighborhood that was still being built when my family moved in back in 2007. The house I’m living in now was built in the early 1900s, I don’t know the exact year. I’ve lost many loved ones and I’m pretty sure at least one is still around and watching me. All my life I’ve had weird things happening around me.

In Washington it wasn’t as often, there would be weird things like a noise upstairs when no one was home but me and the dogs. At first I would think nothing of it, these noises would happen off and on until I moved. Then I moved here, I’ve had weirder things happening. When I first moved in it was ‘old house noises’ a few months after I turned 16 I would see someone outside my window which isn’t exactly likely. My window is 6 or 7 feet off the ground and the person’s head was in the middle of my window. I was creeped out, so I now keep my blinds down so that they can’t see in and I can’t see out. Most recently I had shut the door to my room, locked it, and climbed into bed, five minutes later I look up and my door was wide open. Yes, I’m weird I don’t sleep well unless my bedroom door is locked.

Since I graduated high school almost a year ago I’ve been working at the plant. I’m a janitor so I work mainly alone at night and some pretty weird things have happened. For example my first week of work I was cleaning the training center I was in the back women’s bathroom. I had just finished cleaning the shower, the towels were still on the bench by the lockers. I was replacing the paper towels when out of the corner of my eye I saw a black figure sit down on the bench, knocking the towels onto the floor. I turned to tell them off and no one was there. I called out to see if anyone was in the building with me. No one answered. There have been more things happen like that, but that was the first time. I’ve heard my name be called. I’ve had my arm be yanked. I’ve been pushed. It’s getting to the point where I want to quit because I’m kind of scared for my safety. But I get paid well and I’m not ready to stop working here because I love my boss and my job.”
