Crazy Drum Kits

The Bastl Kastl Drum. A modular drum synthesizer. I know nothing about modular synthesis or drum machines. I bought this. Here’s a bit of what it sounds like. My craziest drum kit ever.

12” Remo djembe with RIMS Mount attached. Meinl cajon snare, blocks and a ribbon crasher mounted to the djembe. Wooden djembe stand custom made by me.

My crazy drum kit! Two measures of 3/4, a measure of 4/4, a measure of 1/4, and a measure of .5/4 (yup). Keep up.

I haven't posted in forever. What I'm playing right now left to right: 1961 Zildjian hi hats, 10" Remo Buffalo drum (I added snares, and is mounted directly to the hit hat stand, which is a vintage Ludwig 1123-1) 10" Buffalo drum (mounted on a tom leg) 14"x14" MIJ floor tom (set up like a cocktail kit with bottom striking bass drum pedal), 16" vintage UFIP ride, also mounted to a tom leg, and an 8" Buffalo drum mounted to the third tom leg. Only 1 stand!

The five piece crazy drum kit! 14'x14' Majestic floor tom/bass drum, 16" Remo Buffalo tom, 10" Remo Buffalo tom, 10" Remo Buffalo snare, 16" vintage UFIP (I think) ride, 14" vintage Zildjian hi hats.

The stock Pearl Compact Traveler kit in the first photo, my crazy version in the second photo. I’ve mounted an 8" Remo Buffalo drum, 10" Remo Buffalo drum, 16" ride cymbal, and the 10" snare that comes with the kit. The bass drum sounds great, the snare is crap. I’m using the snare as a tom and it sounds good that way. Hi hats and a 10" Remo Buffalo drum with snares attached to it, and a 14"x14" vintage Majestic floor tom. All of the extra drums and the cymbal are mounted to the stock hardware that is included with the kit.

Peter Lau’s latest drum kit. Peter says “ This morning spend about 2 hours (really slow/easy)to attached the snare on left side of the bass drum.(left strike pedal and also left hand on the snare)10" kick (right).still thinking want to add another 8"tom (right)or not?.8" bongo on top(can either use finger/stick).This is the improve version for my percussion drum-kit.” Crazy Drum Kit!

A bucket drum kit made by Peter Lau. Peter says - “Spend 1 hour covert this old bass pedal to cable top strike kick pedal.(use honda-cup motorcycle front brake cable).it's attached to the bucket body.easy to transport without removing it.More fun to play now.” Another Crazy Drum Kit by the master.
