The obvious parallel between Yellow and Asgore is super fascinating to me. Yellow's black and white view of good and bad or his simplistic view of justice. Yellow's habit of self-flagellation to the point of hurting those around him would seem to be exactly what happened to Asgore in the light world. The way Blue, the perfect partner that stands for how Asgore views Toriel, immediately forgives Yellow. Blue is who Asgore wishes Toriel was. Asgore desperately wishes Toriel would simply forgive him no matter how much his behaviour hurts others.

Since finding out that Toriel did try to call Kris in chapter 4, I’ve been choosing to believe that since Toriel can’t reach Kris on the phone when they’re in the dark world, the start of Second Sanctuary and Third Sanctuary sounding a bit like a ringtone is intentional and Toriel calling them manifested itself in the soundtrack
