He spent hours chirping sweetly! He started eating and exploring the perches too! He settled more quickly than I expected. Added some more toys and perches so he can explore and play more.

@einsteinthecockatiel (caged next to Craig to make him feel more at home since he was raised around tiels) chatted with Craig a bit and whistled a tune with him! My hope is that they can spend time caged together on occasion.

New bird stuff arrives Thursday and we can finally toss those ugly dowels!

Craig is home! It’s his first time in a cage, so everything is close to the floor for now. This was a bit of a spur of the moment homecoming, so he’s stuck in a temp cage while his flight cage and fancy natural perches are being shipped.

For now, he’s got a couple of toys and a place to hide. I’ve got him on tiel mix and fruit and berry mix with some millet sprays. I don’t feed any of our 4 other birbs seed diets, so grasskeet diets are exciting and new!

Here’s hoping he acclimates quickly.
