Crafty Mart

Crafty Mart is so excited to host Empty Bowls Akron, a grassroots initiative to spread awareness and educate our community about the widespread effect of hunger and food insecurity, at our upcoming event.

Guided by ceramic artist and University of Akron art education graduate, David Pluck, accompanied by three inspiring co-operating art educators, Dillon Sedar - Findley CLC, Alison Rich - Miller South School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and Darla Coppa -  GlenOak High School, students will design and create handcrafted bowls to be sold at Crafty Mart, with all the proceeds benefiting the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank!

For over a month students have been working to create beautiful handcrafted ceramic pieces, while also gaining an understanding of local hunger issues with the support of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

Artists! Empty Bowls Akron invites you to participate in this event by donating your handcrafted bowls. Donation drop off will be November 22 & 23 between 9am – 3pm,  at The University of Akron - Myers School of Art – Ceramics Department - Folk Hall - 150 E. Exchange
