Mother Nature

I’m teaching a stamp carving class on May 5 so I wanted to make some Mexican-Flavored images to inspire the participants...  I have visited the Sonoran Desert in Arizona many times over the years when my dad lived there... and have a fondness for the life that flourishes there and love the style of papel picado--the traditional Mexican folk art of tissue paper cut out banners--all of which have given me ideas for this armadillo and cactus image...

was part of a MINI art show at Mize Gallery....all work had to be 3″ or smaller...so I made some 3″ accordion fold books and some 1 1/2″ mini-mini books...   Larger mushroom book included some original fungi inspired haiku
