I got an ask with the text "This looks rlly bad.." and a screenshot of Trump trying to intimidate universities and protestors, and, folks, I'm sorry, but I'm not doing this.
If you have a question, ask me a question. But don't come to me with a piece of shit tweet from that piece of shit man and a vague statement of concern.
Also, I'm not a lawyer, and a lot of the content of those piece of shit tweets is going to be fought in the courts if he does try to follow through on them, so please don't ask me about them, because I won't have a good answer for you. Consider asking/giving money to the ACLU instead.
I am just a person who believes that marinating your brain in bad news via social media and doomscrolling day in day and day out is bad. Not just because it's bad for your mental health, but because it leaves you with a fundamentally incorrect understanding of the world. And, given how and where lots of fox news viewers tend to end up, it seems like constantly marinating your brain in bad news is a good way to end up being a conspiracy theorist. So, don't do that.
Spend less time online. Check real news organizations like NPR, or PBS, or your local paper to stay informed rather than checking social media. Counterract the media's negative news bias (which started because people click on bad news more often than good news) by seeking out good news. Go get involved in your community. Get off the goddamn internet and go do something worthwhile.
I got another one of those "A bad thing happened..." asks, and again, folks, I. am. not. doing. this. If you have a question, ask the fucking question. If you're hoping that shoving bad news in my face with an ellipsis tacked on the end will somehow make me cough up a pep talk for you, I don't know where you got that impression, and you're wrong. From here on out, I'm going to block people who send me this sort of ask.
Our country made a tragic, horrific mistake last fall. The consequences are severe. The consequences will continue to be severe. A lot of people are organizing and working hard to try to keep things from getting worse. I recommend that you go look for the people doing that, and join them. Get off the goddamn internet and go get involved. Doing that will make you feel better than any pep talk, or whatever it is you wanted from me, would.
