Okay so @letsplayscrabble ‘s most recent chapter got me thinking quite a bit. Do you ever think how Jay Halstead will never be able to give a girl his mother’s ring because the one girl he wanted to give it to walked away and out of his life? Do you ever think that there were times in the day where he would look at Erin and think “Mom would be proud of me” because he had this girl that he was head over heels for, that made him a better man, someone who his mother said he would meet someday? Do you ever think about how he’s going to have to give Will the ring back to put into the safety deposit box and it likely won’t come back out until Will gets his shit together and proposes to Nat? Do you think of the pitying look Will is going to give him as Jay tries to avoid his gaze? Do you ever think about how that someday won’t happen, no matter how much they allude to it? Because they can indirectly have phone calls and conversations with other people how they are doing fine and how Jay might have talked to her on the phone the other night. But in reality we all know that they’re not really together because even Jay admitted multiple times that they were indeed broken up and not on a break to others’ when they asked. Do you ever think that their “Maybe someday” will likely not ever happen because half the ship sunk when the actress left and probably won’t come back?
