Lynah had chemo treatment #2 on Wednesday, her first round of doxorubicin. She was not thrilled to be back at the specialty clinic, and was fussy during her infusion.
The first 24 hours went well, but last night she started vomiting. Fixed that with maropitant (Cerenia), but she still doesn't really want to eat - didn't eat anything yesterday and only had a few mini Milkbones and some whipped cream today. She was brighter today though, and went along for our pack walk in the evening.

Lynah is a week out from her first chemo treatment and doing fantastic! She threw up once but was very relaxed about it and immediately wanted to eat again, and had loose stool once. Otherwise no side effects and she is doing all of her normal things!
Normal for Lynah these days means a lot of napping and going on our daily pack walk of 1-1.5 miles. She is 14, so not exactly the party animal she was in her youth! On days when I work at the vet clinic, she makes my husband let her out late in the afternoon so she can wait for me in her clover patch by the gate ^^
Sad Times
Unfortunately, the duckling didn't make it. Kiddo was showing progressive neurologic signs similar to wry neck so I kept them inside for supervision and extra warmth/care. They were safe and got to play in a large bowl of water which was a huge hit - even needing to be supported to stay upright, the duckling was clearly delighted to be in water and zoomed around splashing as best they could <3 Passed away peacefully at two days old.
The eggs are supposed to hatch this week, so I hope we get some more healthy duckies. But we gave our first the love that we could <3
OMG our first duckling!!! I wasn't expecting any eggs to hatch for another week! Found this little one very fresh and wet, out of the nest. Still wasn't back in the nest with mama Meli after an hour, so I let my anxiety take over and brought him/her inside. Nice and cozy now with a warm corn bag, some dish towels, and food and water available. They're still resting, but starting to peep!!!
Lynah - my heart, my soul, my ride-or-die - has B-cell lymphoma. The last month has been a flurry of suspicion, dread, anxiety, and tests, but yesterday we met her oncologist and she had her first chemo treatment. She did fantastic, and went on our usual pack walk in the evening with the other two dogs.
We have a plan. We have options if she experiences side effects. And most of all, we have a whole lot of love. This wasn't my plan for the summer, but as long as my girl is happy, I'm all in <3
