A pudgy Steller’s Jay in the Stanwood snow
My monocular shots of our Stellers
A glorious crow landed on this fountain at the Huntington Gardens in CA. Photo courtesy of Terry.
Just a chip-eatin’ Covid Corvid at the Ballard Locks. At least the walkways were open again, hoorah for reopenings.

My dramatic Corvid shot. This crow was jealous of all the peanuts the Steller’s Jays were getting. Apparently there is a thing called zoom on a camera that I was not aware of... sigh.
I had been seeing some Steller’s Jays across the street and on Sunday they were on the lawn. Ran in and grabbed some peanuts for them. They went nuts for them! At one point there was a dramatic tussle.

Look at this other gem by Giselle who is absolutely bringing all the other Covids Corvids to the party. September 2020. She says: After weeks of trying to befriend crows, a scrub jay butt came by instead.
Giselle had all these good photos for me I forgot about because I am bad! From September 2020:
These friendly Gray Jays (aka Canada Jays) lived at the campsite and were obviously quite used to getting human food. They traveled in groups of three, including to get drinks of water - two stood guard while one drank.
Ohoho some diversity in Corvids. Photo by Giselle November 2020 who says:
California Scrub Jay at Cooper Mountain. Yet another California transplant out for an Oregon hike on a Sunday.

I guess a good and consistent blogger would space out or queue out their post and for more regular content but I am not good nor consistent. In fact I am quite irregular and impulsive, so here is another post. This short story featuring our favorite topics of Corvids and pandemics was one of my favorite short stories in The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2019.

I recently got this book called Birdsong for the Curious Naturalist, and it’s been great. Here take a listen.
