Take this testĀ to establish your personality type and then goĀ hereĀ to compare yourself to different fictional characters with the same type! Then, post five of them below!
Link is ISFP (the Composer), which is made obvious by his tendency to live in the moment and be easy-going.Ā He dislikes confrontations but also tends to be very impulsive - not the best combination.Ā Link's disposition varies between charming and friendly to aloof and detached, depending on his relationship with someone.Ā He has the potential to be fiercely competitive when he wants to be, and this serves him well in a fight, fostering lucky "gut" feelings and a willingness to take risks.Ā He's able to practice playing an instrument or honing a favoured skill for hours on end, not so much for practice but simply for the joy of the experience.
Alistair from Dragon Age: Origins
Harry Potter from Harry Potter ((yooooo))
Link from The Legend of Zelda ((obviously))
Jon Snow from A Song of Ice and Fire
Tony from West Side Story
(( Link's handwriting.Ā He struggles a bit with reading and writing, so this is as legible as it gets. ))
Not Quite A Hero Yet
Name: Link St. John Smythe
Age: 19
Alignment: Lawful Good
Sexual preference: Asexual, panromantic
Religion: Though he questions his faith daily, he believes in the golden goddesses.
Star sign: April 16, Aries.Ā Sums him up about right.
Languages spoken: Hylian, and while fluent he stumbles over his words often.Ā He's got a vague understanding of Ancient Hylian, but only in so much as the words look familiar to him, sometimes.Ā It's complicated.
Vices: Stubborn, reckless, thick-headed at times, rash, selfless to the point of idiocy, self-conscious at times, thinks he's a coward if he's not risking his neck.
Virtues: Brave, loyal, level-headed, friendly, impeccable mental fortitude, protective, forgiving, always there when you need him most.
Occupation: Professional farm boy.Ā No, seriously.
What skills do they use for that occupation?: As he's been doing it for many years, Link meets all the physical requirements for a job involving strenuous work on Lon Lon Ranch.Ā Before that, however, he worked part-time assisting his uncle in the smithy, so he has some experience there as well.
Describe their father: Peter Gallagher, a lowborn knight.Ā Not a bad bone in his body, the most wayward thing he ever did was wooing Clarissa.Ā He married her after discovering she was pregnant with his child.Ā He later died in a battle where he was fighting for the freedom of non-humans.
Link was raised by Peter's older brother Ezekiel, referred to as "Uncle Zeke".Ā While his bedside manner was lacking more often than not, he was a solid father figure for Link and loved him dearly.Ā After contracting a sickness, Zeke died when Link was thirteen.
Describe their mother: Clarissa St. John Smythe, a pianist born into a wealthy family.Ā Good at working with her hands, graceful in her movements.Ā She married below her class, causing her family to disinherit her.Ā The news that her husband had been killed did not sit well with her, and she died giving birth to her only son, Link.
Compulsion and addictions: None.
Phobias and fears: Losing his loved ones.Ā Right now he's a bit afraid of his dreams as well.
Disabilities: None.

ā³: What's the worst nightmare you ever had?
9/10
I⦠It was one that I had the other night, maybe two nights ago.Ā Something was chasing me, like.Ā I donāt know what or who they were, but⦠[Shudders]
Send me a ā³ and ask a really invasive question aimed at my character
Theyāll have to:
Rate on a scale of 1-10 how much they donāt want to answer that question.
Answer that question.
Cacophany | [Link, Malon]
Malon stood with some difficulty. She hadnāt been hurt from what she could remember, why did her legs feel so weak? She frowned at them a little and steadied herself while giving him a nod. As she laced her fingers into his she gave another wary glance back over her shoulder at the chaos of the ruined party. Only a few were making the desperate climb out of the windows, more still trapped inside, screaming from no doubt being trampled by their fellow guests. Malon felt sick.
āHow did you know?ā she asked absently, forcing her attention back to him to distract herself from the sounds. āTo get out from there, I mean.ā
Sensing Malonās unease, Link did his best to support her as they trekked through the castle gardens.Ā A twist here, a turn here⦠somehow Link was not afraid, despite the horribly traumatic scene that had unfolded before them only minutes ago.Ā The vines and foliage were not as he remembered, and the place seemed almost deserted without the guards patrolling⦠wait, no ā this was not a place Link remembered at all, because he had never been here.
And suddenly he was left to feel very small and very scared.
āI⦠I didnāt,ā he admitted quietly, glancing around.Ā āThere wasnāt anywhere else to go, I⦠I donāt know, maybe I snuck in here once a long time ago, on a milk run.Ā It just feels familiar.āĀ Somehow.
Cacophany | [Link, Malon]
Malon felt numb. Stupidly, wordlessly numb. She had barely noticed the cool solidness of the bench beneath her. In her mind she was still helplessly slumped over Linkās shoulder with arms covering her head as they were jostled this way and that by the violently panicked crowd. Linkās hands were on his cheeks, hot and calloused by years of tending the farm. They seemed to bring her out of her stupor if only just enough to incoherently murmur as her eyes flicked across the courtyard to the shattered window and the distant sounds of chaos inside there.
āWhatās happeninā?ā she asked dumbly, as if she didnāt already know. She tore her eyes back to Link, her mind snapping a touch clearer as she traced her thumb along the shape of the growing discolored bruise on his face. His mask was gone now. Had someone hit him? āYouāre hurt,ā she said more quietly, only just becoming aware of her own shaking.
The screams from the ballroom distracted her again and her gaze darted to them again, her breath uneven as it left her. Malon shook herself, trying to get a grip on her senses that all seemed to be running rampant. āWh-what are we sāposed to do now?ā
As Malonās fingertips traced over his cheek, he shook his head and lowered her hand gently.Ā āShh, donāt you worry about me right now, pet,ā Link murmured, removing Malonās mask from her tangled hair to smooth the red strands back from her face.Ā His hands shook, from adrenaline or from whatever ailed him as of late he was unsure.Ā āIāll be all right.Ā Are you okay to walk?Ā Weāre a long way from home, yet.ā
He stood slowly, becoming aware of a dull pain in his ankle from their less than stellar landing.Ā There was the distant sound of sirens, screaming, and glass shattering still, and Link had no desire to stay here any longer than he had to.Ā Grasping Malonās hands carefully, he assisted her to her feet and glanced around the courtyards.Ā Even in the dark, there was something eerily familiar about the place, though Link could not recall being here before.Ā Had he played here as a child, perhaps?
A sudden breeze drew goosebumps from his skin.Ā Yes, that must have been it.
āCome on, letās go home,ā Link said, trying to smile as he squeezed Malonās hand gently.
Cacophany | [Link, Malon]
As the first gunshot exploded amidst the partygoers, Malon jumped, a short, panicked scream fleeing her throat as she tried to reclaim her heart that was desperately crawling up after it. A moment later, a hand found her arm and she was pressed against Linkās chest protectively. Malon wiggled against the hold, her own panic forcing herself to move to where she could peer around the taller boyās shoulder at the cluster of people in a large circle around three figures. The pretty felon, JasdaĆ«, the masked man, Azrael that Malon had just danced with, andā
Ā Zelda?
Her eyes grew wide in terror, the barrel of Azraelās gun pressed against the princessā fair skin. He had been so charming only moments ago. Now he seemed half mad as he gave the kind of speech that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. The only thing adding to the chill was the icy dead stare from the king that made the skin on her arms pimple up.
She screamed again as the next shots fired, eyes shut tight in a flinch while covering her ears uselessly for a moment before looking up in horror to see Zelda lying on the ground. What had happened? She almost couldnāt make her out what with the now stampeding chaos of the crowd. Gods, was she alive? She had to be. Sheā Her heart threatened to suffocate her with its pounding and she instinctively stepped forward only to be tugged against Link again. He held her tight, a noticeable tremor in the grip.Ā She gasped raggedly, suddenly realizing that sheĀ hadnātĀ been breathing and only vaguely aware ofĀ the clean wet streaks that disheveled what little makeup she had made the effort of wearing tonight. Grasping at Linkās hand around her waist she moved to pull away again. āZeldaāsāā she gasped, not entirely forming coherent thoughts much less sentences. āSheās over thereā We have to help herāā
And yet still as she squirmed out of Linkās grasp, the knighted prince himself was already scooping up his betrothed and withdrawing through the back exits with a fair number of knights crowded around them to part the crowd as they moved.
The guests pushed left and right, all of them consumed with such a terrible fear and a need to rush to the exits.Ā Link heard glass shattering as a few braver partygoers broke through one of the ballroom windows exiting into the courtyard.Ā There was a sudden burst of clarity in his mind at the thought, and he realized then that if he and Malon were outside, he would know exactly where to go.
Seeing how Malon squirmed to reach Zelda, Link wasted no time in scooping her up in his arms.Ā Balancing her on his shoulder, he shoved through the crowd as quickly as he could.Ā A passer-byās elbow caught him in the face, knocking his mask to the floor as he pushed past.Ā Another blow landed in his abdomen and Link gasped as the air was knocked out of him ā but he kept moving.
By some stroke of luck, he and Malon made it to the courtyard windows, managing not to slip in the ominous smears of blood and broken glass on the floor.Ā Link gripped the window frame for support as he clambered through, landing with a soft thud on the grassy flagstones below. Ā Panting, he made sure to move to a quieter area of thicket on the outskirts of the castle grounds before setting Malon down on a nearby bench.
Glancing around, Link tried to plan their next move; the calamity of the ballroom was a distant noise now, the courtyard eerily quiet in comparison with only a dozen stray people running about.
āAre you hurt?ā he asked, inspecting Malonās face for any injuries.Ā Her makeup was smeared beneath her eyes where her tears had fallen, and he wiped them hastily with his thumbs as he held her face in his hands.Ā āAre you all right?ā

Cacophany | [Link, Malon]
In his efforts to get as far away from Zelda as possible, Link had lost sight of Malon in the crowd.Ā It wasnāt until he found her, standing idly near the food tables, that the first shot rang out above the noise.Ā Link nearly jumped out of his skin, moving to grasp Malonās hand to pull her closer to him as disorder ensued.Ā Suddenly, the crowd came to a standstill and Link was able to see through the gaps in the partygoers.
A masked man in black he did not recognize stood with a Gerudo woman he later recognized as JasdaĆ«, the princess held tightly in the manās grasp.Ā Linkās stomach dropped when he caught sight of the gun in his hands.Ā His heart pounding in his chest, he watched with bated breath as the man gave an ominous speech, his words resounding off the walls of the now silent ballroom.Ā There was a power in his words that Link found himself strangely drawn to, a sort of pull he couldnāt ignore.
Do not serve a false king.
The shots rang out again, and suddenly the princess was thrown to the floor and the panicked dancers were scattering every which way.Ā Link instinctively wrapped an arm around Malonās waist, pulling her tightly against him; if they were getting out of here, they were getting out of here together, goddesses be damned.
But how were they to leave when the room had exploded into such a terrible chaos?
When it Rains || Kafei & Link
Kafei frowned, his shoulders instantly slumping at the news that they would not be sparring today. HeĀ wasĀ going to complain about it, saying that he had made the trek over and that heād just make Link some coffee, but then he grew instantly wary for his friend.Ā Heās shaking. He is actually shaking.Ā Kafei couldnāt recall ever seeing Link shake; not even when he was in danger at the riot where they first met.
"Nightmares? When I drink too much, yeah. I tend to not sleep well and feel very⦠awake in dreams under the influence⦠I understand what you mean." Kafei nodded his head. Constantly he would dream that he were being chased and hurt by some unseen force. Heād wake up ready to heave and forget the dream soon after, however. "But their just dreams, Link. You shouldnāt let it get to you like that."
Walking back to his seat, Kafei sat back down slowly, his pants slick against the cold wood. āA memory? Thatās different⦠Iāve had dreams that felt real, but not really any de ja vu. Thatās so strange⦠Youāre really shaken up by thisā¦ā
Shaking his head, Link cast Kafei an exasperated glance.Ā āTheyāre not just dreams, Kafei,ā he insisted, nearly pleaded.Ā āI canāt explain it, but I know theyāre something more, something⦠Goddesses, I donāt know what it is, but I just canāt stop having them.Ā I donāt know what they mean and it sc ā it scares me, Kafei.ā
Somehow in the midst of his statement Link had stood up and was now inches from Kafei.Ā He took a step back, breathing slowly.Ā āSorry, I⦠I donāt know whatās gotten into me,ā he murmured sheepishly, his face flushed as he turned away.Ā āIām scared Iām losing my mind, Kaf.ā
Easy Terms | [Link, Malon]
Malonās grin slowly became more crooked, amusement lighting her features as Link struggled to word himself. It was terribly endearing the way he stumbled over himself and it was almost enough of a distraction to mask the flutter in her chest.
"Iād love to," she said simply, picking up on her toes to kiss him again. After a pause, she dropped to her heels and scowled at him just slightly. "Ye didnāt need to be gettinā me anything though. What did you do?"
āWellā¦ā Link trailed off as he kissed her, wrapping an arm around her waist gently.Ā āWhy not I show you?āĀ Since itās apparent Iāve forgotten how to articulate today.Ā He took her hand and led her towards his bedroom closet.Ā Pushing aside his collection of battered sweaters, he removed what heād been referring to ā the garment had been collected inside of a bag to protect it from whatever horrors might present themselves within a dark, enclosed space such as this.
āI bought you a dress,ā Link explained happily, holding the garment up by the hanger.Ā āI hope it fits⦠not a lot of time for alterations.Ā Should, like.Ā Got the seamstress enough references⦠erm, why donāt you try it on?ā
Easy Terms | [Link, Malon]
Malon backtracked with her bundle to where she had just previously been standing and blinked at him. āA present?ā she asked, cocking her head slightly. She paused and then turned to him as a grin tugged on her lips.
"Yes, certainly a surprise," She shifting the bundle to her waist while regarding him. "Whatās the occasion, Spud? Pretty sure itās not my birthday."
He couldnāt help but grin himself when he saw Malon smiling.Ā Something about the prospect of gifting her with the surprise heād been planning filled him with a sort of nervous, giddy feeling.Ā āNot your birthday, no,ā he agreed, shaking his head as he shoved his hands into his pockets.
āItās, ah⦠well.āĀ He cleared his throat, chuckling nervously as he rocked back and forth where he stood.Ā āSeeing as itās the masquerade tonight, and weāve both got the night off, like⦠I was thinking Iād get you something and you could, ah, wear it to the masquerade.Ā With me.Ā Ah, going with me, like.Ā Goddesses, shut up and just give her the damned thing.
Easy Terms | [Link, Malon]
Malon smiled in return and gave his cheek a comforting pat. āGo and put that out of your head now, ālright?ā she encouraged with another grin. Carefree and lazy always suited Link better Malon had decided a long time ago. However it always seemed whenever he wasnāt carefree he was depressingly troubled by something and sheād never liked the way it bore down on him.Ā
"Now then," she said lightly with another kiss before turning to scoop up the linens again. "Thereās some food in the kitchen if youāre hungry. I trust you can find it yourself, yeah?" She gave him a less than innocent wink and turned down the hall to continue with her task.
There were a thousand things he wanted to say, none of which managed to leave his mouth at that moment. He wanted to say how impossible it felt to deny the dreams when they felt so intrinsically linked with his very soul, but somehow he knew that no amount of explaining could ever do these feelings justice⦠so he simply said nothing on the matter at all.
āYeah, I can find it, all right,ā Link mumbled in response, glancing down at his hands as Malon left.Ā The shaking had subsided slightly, allowing his head to clear long enough for him to remember what the date was ā and what heād had planned for the past month or so.Ā āOh, I⦠ah, I got you something.Ā A present.Ā Surprise.ā

NPC Video Game Character Building
PLACE
Whatās their location when the protagonist meets them?
Link is generally found on Lon Lon Ranch or the streets of the Eastern District.Ā If heās in the stables, heāll either be attending to one of the horses or passed out on the nearest bale of hay.
CLOTHES
What clothes are they always wearing?
If heās out and about, Link will be wearing a green vest ā arguably the nicest piece of clothing he owns.Ā If heās at work, however, heāll likely be wearing a torn shirt and general work clothes.
CHARACTER THEME
When the protag talks to your character, what song is playing?
This.
IDLE ANIMATIONS
When your character is idle, what do they do?
He fidgets a lot; if heās not walking around or doing something ā such as tending to one of the horses or his chores on the ranch ā heāll likely be scratching his head, rubbing the back of his neck, or shoving his hands in his pockets.
ACTIVE ANIMATIONS
When your character is activated by the protag, what gestures do they make while they talk? How do they stand?
Link glances around a lot, especially if heās not familiar with the protagonist.Ā Heāll shuffle his feet awkwardly at least once and cross his arms over his chest if he doesnāt like where the conversation is going.Ā If heās friendly with the protagonist, expect lots of blushing and awkward smiles.
SOUNDS
When your character is initiated into conversation, what sound do they make before and during the conversation?
Regardless of his relationship with them, Link will always greet the protagonist with a grunt, a noncommittal āHuh?ā or a general āHulloā.Ā This is mostly because his tendency to daydream leaves him perpetually startled by the protagonistās presence.
SIDE QUESTS
Pick five side quests they would give the protag. Also include rewards, if you like.
Helping him out with his ranch chores, to which Link will reward the protagonist with a small sum.
A rather long-winded quest involving messages and flowers to be delivered to a particular young lady.Ā Another small sum for helping keep Linkās love life alive.
Thereās a delivery to be made in the Southern District, but with the recent gang activity Link isnāt sure he can defend himself and his cargo at the same time.
Link needs help busting a few of his rebel friends out of prison.Ā He accompanies the protagonist through a night of violence and lockpicking.Ā He gifts them with his sword before vanishing from the game for a period of time.
After returning from his brief period spent lying low, Link needs the protagonist to deliver a letter to the Princess Zelda, regarding some strange dreams heās been having in the hopes of arranging a meeting time.Ā Link gifts the protagonist with an old pendant, āA small token, but itās the most valuable thing I can offer you.ā
CONVERSATIONS
Give 1-3 samples of dialogue.
āOh⦠hullo.Ā I donāt suppose you could give me a hand with something?ā
>Yes
āReally?Ā I mean⦠okay, good.ā
>No
āOkay, well⦠unless you plan on staring at me all day, maybe you should get going.ā
Easy Terms | [Link, Malon]
Malon watched his face as he spoke, absently chewing on her lip and fidgeting with the tears in his sweater. How had he always managed to destroy his clothes like that? In the back of her mind she made the mental note to salvage what she could later. Her brow creased as he trailed off, dismissing his worries for silliness. āItās not daft,ā she scolded, patting his cheek lightly. āItās really bothering ye, isnāt it?ā
She sighed, still holding his cheek, āLookā I mean, yeah, maybe ye are rememberinā summat. But maybe youāre not, Link. Stress does that.ā
She kissed him again, quite as-a-matter-of-factly and nodded once, hoping to reassure him. āTry not to think about it too much. Ye might only be stressinā yourself out further.ā
Biting his lip, Link regarded Malonās face.Ā There had never been anything he couldnāt tell her, no secret he couldnāt share, no fear he ever felt he couldnāt confide in her.Ā Perhaps this was the first time that he felt a disconnect in what he was feeling and what Malon understood.
He didnāt say anything, merely nodding numbly at her words.Ā There was little he could say to exemplify what the dreams made him feel, and only so much he was willing to remember in a conversation.
Kissing her forehead gently, Link smiled.Ā āYouāre probably right,ā he agreed, chuckling lightly.Ā āTimes is hard, you know.ā
