A couple of years back, a single parent ex colleague of mine mentioned that many of her mummy friends say that they’d rather parent with the maid because they can boss them around and get things done 100% to their liking. Unlike parenting with spouses, grandparents, babysitters, school teachers etc.. At that time, I (stupidly) thought that she was jealous that I was getting married or that she’s saying this cuz she’s a single parent. And I saw some TikToks on this as well, I didn’t agree

until I had a helper…. Wow the comfort was unmatched.

But also - if I knew what i know now…… I wouldn’t even have gotten married in the first place. I miss being my old self. Feisty, loud and glamorous. Wife hood and motherhood have worn me out completely. I miss my career, I miss my care free days and I miss living with my parents/sister. I miss my father.

As for A, he is loving and thriving in this parenting routine loop. So much so that he doesn’t bother planning any vacations or special days. He loves every day routine with his kid. And here I am, wanting so much more from life as I believe in expanding and exploring my time here on earth.
