A few short years ago, and Soundwave would not have been doing this. But, after having Aid wander into his life, he re-learned how to open up. That war had not ruined him as badly as he feared.

“Mn…not today.” he responded, hugging the mechlet tight, before shifting to hold Aid in his arm.

First Aid had become used to just… not walking around much on base. Soundwave tended to scoop him up and carry him around most days he visited. He wasn’t sure why. Perhaps because of their size difference, it was hard for the medic to keep up with him. That was considerate, if that were the case. Oh, he was getting lost in thought. 

“Good. What do you want to do today?”

It was a habit now. One the rest of his family was in no rush to help break, as they took advantage of it as well. Not that Soundwave was bothered by this, just scooping up his family when they felt like not walking.

Soundwave laughed softly, as he lifted the smaller mech off the ground, relaxed enough around him to do so. The last few years had made scenes like this common to the rest of his family. “Hello.”

First Aid hummed when he was lifted. Once upon a time, he would have resisted this. Not so much now. “Are you busy today?”
