plant daddi-o

as some of you saw, i had a family member pass away from covid unfortunately earlier this week. my fiance and i are helping my mom with wake and funeral expenses since she is still working and considered to be “essential”, but she cant do it all on their own since her estranged brother is m.i.a still.

i was furloughed since 5/1 and did not qualify for $600 benefits via unemployment. my fiance and i will be using what we can to help but we will then be at a point to pick and choose what bills of ours get paid or if we can get groceries (we already shop at aldi and bc its right across the street from us, i dont need to drive bc my brakes dont work right now)

our biggest concern is rent honestly. i know its fucking wild right now, unemployment benefits are i guess ending for many folks this week or at the end of july and many of us are still not back to work or able to find new jobs.

i wouldnt ask for this kind of help if i didnt have to. in general, i have a rough time swallowing my pride and asking for this kind of help in the first place. we’ve crunched and crunched the numbers, we’ve talked to our complex multiple times and they are the only ones that wont let us slide so whatever we have left after helping out with funeral costs, will go towards rent but we will still be short by $540.
