And I have no desire

To endulge

In it’s flavor of hatred

A part of my heart died

The day I left you on that spring morning.

And now there is nothing left

The pen will not stroke; words will not flow. You've taken every word from me since you left this world.

And all I can ask

I'm in love with the hand that I never got to hold;

The warmth of a hug I never embraced;

The stare from eyes that twinkled like stars;

The passion in lips that I never got to kiss.

And worst of all

I am in love with the soul that mine was never supposed to love.

I fall in love with people

The way I fall in love with books.

Each new face holding a new story

Beyond the worlds of a caged reality.

We highlight our favorite parts

And outline the pages with gentle fingers,

Digging deep to discover the truth

Of what lay beneath the words behind our eyes;

And the minute our mouths close

I go in search

Of finding a new story to love,

But the book will always be there

Nestled in the back of my mind.

And though I fall in love over and over again,

I promise that you are my favorite book of all.

I fell in love

with the idea of love.

Oh,

but not you.

You were the very definition

Of love itself.

I saw a sky full of stars in your eyes

And heard the sound of rain and thunder within your heart.

Your mind more complex than the sea;

Your passion raging as a forest fire,

And a beauty brighter than the sun with every smile.

That's when I learned

right then

Why you didn't belong here on earth,

For you held a world within yourself

That was much too vivid for any adventurous spirit...

...Including mine

for you in everyone else

But no other hands

Will hold my heart

The way yours once did

If you ever find

Words to carry you through

I pray "You Did Well"

Will be the simple words you choose

Life is hard

But you pushed through for a while

And even though you cried

You continued to smile

Days grew longer

And I know it was hard

You pushed until your limits

Now look where you are

If you ever find these simple words

I pray you will cling so tight

You have worked very hard

So please rest, you fought a hard fight.

The world seems cold; silent.. yet it still goes on. Like a broken clock, constantly the hands tick, yet never moves. That's how time feels without you.

Color drained the planet

When you closed your eyes to rest

Silent went the world

When you took your last breath

The trees have quit dancing

And the wind refuses to sing

The sky won't stop crying

Winter will not greet spring

You're no longer in pain

And I am happy you are free

But what about the personal hell

This pain you have left with me

I can no longer see color

When all you see light

Darkness forever surrounds me

And where I loved you most

I am now terrified of the night

I no longer know

If I truly exist

Within this world of reality.

I see glimpses of myself

Of who I was

And who I never

Will be.

Life spins before me

And then suddenly stops

Whilst I clutch the air

Only to find

That I'm the only one there.

And now I'm here

Resting within you

And the reality of tomorrow.

Maybe it's dark

Or maybe there's light

But life seems to be spinning

Just a little slower than before.

Twinkle and glisten

Sparkle and shine

I only wish

For our worlds to collide

Day and night

Dark and light

My Darling your moon

Is shining so bright

Happiness and sadness

Sun and rain

My dear you're so far

Too far to understand my pain

What is love

When you're not around?

For why are you in the stars

When I am stuck on the ground?

Twinkle and glisten

Sparkle and shine

My only wish

Is for you to be mine

I feel too much

And nothing at all

Life spins around me

But sometimes I do not exist

How do I disappoint

Someone I do not know?

How do I feel tired

From talking to no one at all?

And is it truly possible

To please everyone in your life

When in reality

There is no one but yourself?

That's the thing about the stars.

They can tear your heart to shreads,

Like thin sheets of paper dipped into the darkest part of your soul.

They can dangle your hope above you,

Just barely out of your reach making life seem impossible and worth living all at once.

You want to leave.

To run in the confined walls of your home and lock the doors behind you.

But that's the thing about the stars.

They're beautiful

And you love them too much to leave.
