We’re a pair of sentimental saps and I love it 🥰🤗

Our first wedding anniversary was a week ago and we celebrated with #paperanniversary gifts. The first photo is a handwritten and signed copy of lyrics to #BowlForTwo by The Expendables, the song I walked down the aisle toward Mio as the instrumental intro played, and the second photo is a commissioned sea otter piece on paper by #followthesunart, who was live-painting at our wedding reception! Huge thank you to both #theexpendables and #followthesunart for helping us celebrate in our own special ways, it means the world to have such personal gifts celebrating our first anniversary!

I’m not sure when, but sometime along the way I stopped taking photos like this. Stopped showing off my excitement for new merch drops and sending out your #reefermail. It felt like bragging tbh. I felt so lucky to have your orders coming in and I was insecure that if I continued to share that joy people would be upset with me. Because they already were. I’d been told I was only “successful” because I was first. I was told I didn’t deserve the orders or followers I had, and I felt burdened by the weight of others’ jealousy.

FUCK THAT. I have no more room in my life to stifle my joys. I have no sympathy for the people that came after me, attacked and criticized me, to then follow every step I’ve taken. I reject the need to make people that don’t even like me, feel more comfortable.

Next month @stoneysunday turns TEN YEARS OLD! 🎉🎉🎉 if you see celebrating that milestone as bragging, you misunderstand so much of what I’m about. I’m in shock, I’m in awe, I’m so grateful and amazed that every week I get to get stoney with people around the world.

If you had told 12 year old Coral that at 32 I’d like having my picture taken more than ever, I’d probably have called you a liar and told you exactly how wrong you are. If you even suggested to 12 year old Coral that I would be a vocal advocate for cannabis I would have been convinced you’re crazy. But things change and people do too, and what 12 year old Coral couldn’t possibly imagine as comfortable I find so much confidence in.

I’m getting to know my grown up self more everyday, giving myself permission to shed what doesn’t work for me and grow into what does. Reconciling who I was 20 years ago and who I am today and who I might be in another 20 years from now. I was raised very “one day at a time” and while I can’t ignore the merits of that logic in some moments, it also shorts us the opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come as the days pass. Or to fantasize about what the future might still hold for us.

12 year old Coral couldn’t picture a future different than her present. A person different than who was she was in that moment. I wasn’t sure how to, and I was afraid of anything beyond the day. That fear doesn’t serve me anymore, I’m looking ahead and looking back and finding myself appreciating this journey I’m on. Thanks for riding the ride with me.

@drbronner hemp soaps would have to have been the first introduction to hemp infused anything, always in my home growing up. Then @hempzofficial lotions when I was a tanning bed teenager, more than a decade later I’ve added in their conditioner to my routine and LOVE how my hair feels. I’ve been using two hemp infused mascaras, @milkmakeup and @pacificabeauty’s, and also swear by Pacifica’s hemp infused makeup removing wipes. So soothing on my skin and effective at pulling all the grime off, not just pushing it around. 🙃
