bestowing nerve damage upon nayuhemat thanks to their 1 single weeping scar. specifically it's fucked up their ulnar nerve - inconvenient but not the worst possible place? would probably heal somewhat well by itself if it were a normal laceration, but alas. wells.

bats my eyelashes at thee. could you spare some info about your non-fandom pcs for a poor fellow like me...
i like to keep my secrets but ill spare some information...
i assume this was abt my divorcee couple post LOL: its about edgar (who has been blessed with the "young farmer's boy is forcefemme'd into a religious control freak" title in my notes) and higenia (who've ive drawn like twice, but both of those drawings are outdated--i.e tormentor and torturer of a village "redeemed" into being edgar's priest). edgar is estranged from his wife and higenia used to be together with edgar's sister (The Chosen One) until *mysterious plot related reason* but they have the world's worst nuclear family w/two of the other main characters.
whenever i reblog a post with cloth mother vs wire mother 50% of the time it's with higenia and edgar, 50% of the time its with higenia and another important female character *important plot reasons etc*.
she is wire mother btw
higenia used to be a part of the group that tortured and killed his parents, but she was ALSO being tortured in the same jail cell as him and watched him have a mental breakdown that lead to the aformentioned religious control freak cult leader stint. edgar honestly wishes she was dead but would cry real tears if that happened; higenia is constantly comparing him to her bestfriend/brother-ish/codependent torturer friend and finds him lacking but they also sit together in the same pew holding hands.
they suck Bad. they suck really really Bad. every scene w/them together feels like they are sucking positive energy out of the room in a fantastic way
i was thinking abt them since i wanted t make a little drawing of my awfulbad ocs
Rotating Malachai and Clara's godawful situationship this fine evening. It's very important to me that Clara is the one who initiates physical intimacy. Malachai's weird and creepy and invasive towards her from the start but it's Clara who makes it, for lack of a better phrase, a sex thing. Because it feels like power to make the choice to dance the line of her trauma with them (the trauma she can't even remember but can Feel). It feels like agency to know you're at rock bottom and pick up a shovel to dig. And there's something so awfully freeing in the way Malachai isn't careful with her- in how they see art in the awful things happening to her
She's been forced to be reliant on them; she has been at their mercy, in their nightgown, needing their help to survive. Redefining their relationship in this way feels like taking control back

almost all the same post! from when I was reblogging this more often - I've paused the queue, but haven't cleared anything out (sometimes I accidentally send a post there instead of drafts, and have to scroll for DAYS)
Hands you a drink that's so obviously spiked with love potion and looking at you with big wet eyes and starts to sniffle a little when you don't want to drink it

after thinking it over more, I'm imagining a story (Exceptional or otherwise) wherein you can help chiral out with some stuff (not sure what. not important yet), and in doing so you build up a quality that indicates how positive your relationship with it is. if you get it to, say, 20+ by the end of the story, you get chiral as a companion (probably not as a companion who is *with you* - flavoured more as something like 'correspondence with chiral ocean')! they're not *great*, statswise, but they're not terrible either, and you can marry them at some point for the Agreement.
BUT. if you successfully pass every check in the story - several of which require random qualities for which there was no forewarning, there are at *least* 7 luck checks - and get the quality to 77, then you don't get any companion. you get a nice little message about how you'll be 'repaid for your kindness' and that's it! then three days later you get an autofire card and suddenly a bat is married to you forever
by the point of his destiny in the neon future elphinstone is pretty well-integrated into the city. very modern lifestyle. but it's likely that he lives with the duchess for some time before then.. not officially, he just walks in and declares he lives there like any normal cat. this fits their current dynamic (an oddly casual relationship of an ambiguous-but-friendly category; she is his artistic patron and he does certain errands for her but also they act pretty informal sometimes. immortal cat owner and immortal catgirl having tea together for eternity)
from an out-of-character perspective: I was trying to give them more of a general sense of 'abysmally bad BDR' rather than focusing on a specific stat - I did consider just having -9 BDR on there, but felt that an even spread worked better.
from an in-character perspective: standing next to a weird bat will make you look SO normal in comparison. unfortunately

Rambling about my FL OCs part 3: The Starry-Eyed Optimist!
"A charmingly patient man. Disconcertingly so, in fact. Sometimes so silent that you forget he's here at all."
Meet Wyatt Holloway, my BaL and also seeking alt who I am progressing *very* slowly (probably not gonna make any more progress on his account till both aaylah and helen hit the content boundary) but who mayyy have just become relevant (on account of possibly proposing. to a certain evil bat.)
Backstory:
Wyatt is a noman. Wyatt does not know he is a noman.
Soo this requires some knowledge of Aaylah's backstory. When Aaylah was a tiiiny child having just come down to the neath, she lived with her father, Ahmad. Her father (before he was kidnapped) had some knowledge that he had caught the eye of... dangerous powers. The Optimist was a plan to protect his daughter after he's gone.
He wants something that will live as long as Aaylah will. That will understand her. Something brimming with compassion and patience, so that it can raise her if need be.
He waits till winter. He gathers the lacre, and the amber. He takes a sample of his daughter's blood.
He builds this creature in the Forgotten Quarter. He gives it a heartmetal heart imbued with one belief, the thing that has kept him going this long and that will allow him to serve his purpose:
All shall be well. You shall make it so.
And so, the Starry-Eyed Optimist is born.
He's succeeded. His child will be safe.
...or, at least, she would have been, if not for Ahmad falling unconscious there and then and figures descending out of the mist to take him away.
The Optimist comes to consciousness as what could be called his father notices himself falling asleep. He commands the creature that could be called his son to run.
The Optimist does as he's told, and doesn't look back.
He runs, and runs, and runs.
Finally, he finds shelter. A cave. He doesn't venture deep, but he sits in its mouth for a while.
It glows with such lovely purple light.
He doesn't need to worry.
No one will find him here.
No one will find— who is he again?
A nameless boy stumbles out of the nadir. He walks and walks till an orphanage takes him in.
People keep asking him about his name— he gets the sense he's meant to have one of those. He picks one he likes out of a penny dreadful left in the dorms.
"Wyatt Holloway"
He likes that.
A lost boy grows into a lost man. There's a reason he exists, a purpose, he knows it. It's on the tip of his tongue, it is—
He's meant to protect. To care. To make things right.
