The refrigeration process and the importance of it.
In a refrigerating machine, the liquid is evaporated in a part known as the evaporator. During evaporation, the liquid takes the latent heat from the substance to be cooled and produces cooling. The refrigeration capacity is measured in "Ton of refrigeration" or kilocalories.
Importance of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning
Before the discovery of refrigeration and air-conditioning perishable food-stuffs had to be consumed within a few hours where they were produced, so that they may not spoil. In this way, those who lived on a certain distance could not enjoy the fruits, raw vegetables, milk, and meat, etc. Fresh fruits which grew in abundance in the spring and the summer seasons could not be held for use in winter. In addition to it, we had to face so many difficulties in manufacturing and researches, etc. Moreover, people had to work hard in too much hot in summer and cold in winter. But now all such problems have been solved by the discovery of refrigeration and air conditioning.
