On A Different World, the cast delivered a powerful performance of "Ego Tripping" by Nikki Giovanni. Nikki Giovanni wrote the poem in the early 70s celebrating Black Womanhood as cosmic, divine, and unstoppable.

Despite attacks on DEI initiatives, cuts to federal programs, and threats to HBCU funding, one thing remains true:
HBCUs continue to produce leaders, innovators, changemakers, and Black excellence. ✊🏾🎓✨
Across the country, Historically Black Colleges and Universities are facing growing challenges as funding for scholarships, research grants, mentorship programs, and diversity initiatives continues to be targeted. Programs designed to support Black students and underserved communities are being labeled “unnecessary” while critical resources for HBCUs are being reduced or eliminated.
But even in the face of these challenges, HBCU students are still graduating. Still leading. Still building legacy.
From future doctors at Morehouse School of Medicine, to educators at Savannah State, entrepreneurs at Clark Atlanta, engineers at Fort Valley State University, and scholars at Spelman and Morehouse — HBCUs continue to prove why these institutions matter.
HBCUs have never only been about degrees. They are about resilience. Community. Opportunity. Culture. And creating spaces where Black students can thrive unapologetically.
The reality is this: You can try to cut programs. You can try to erase initiatives. But you cannot erase the impact of HBCUs.
Generations before us fought to build these institutions with far fewer resources — and generations today are continuing that legacy with purpose and determination.
So while policies may change, the mission remains the same: Educate. Empower. Elevate. ✨
Protect HBCUs. Support Black education.
🗳️ Georgia’s Primary Election is May 19th. Vote and stay civically engaged — because elections, policies, and funding decisions directly impact the future of these institutions.

The Insane Story Behind The Rolling Stones’ Recording of “Gimme Shelter”
The North Lawndale College Prep Boys Track and Field team just made the 2026 Illinois State Championship and it’s only the third time in state history a charter school has accomplished this. The most remarkable part is that this team doesn’t have a track to practice on.
Head Coach Terrence Redmond said the team regularly uses their school hallways to train. No track. No traditional training facilities. Just hallways and hard work. Fourteen boys qualified for the state finals in Charleston.
“Everybody was willing to play their part,” assistant coach Jakyra McGee said. “We’ve been trying to work at this for literally seven to ten years and to see this finally happen is just amazing.”
Triple jump qualifier Seancory Humphries said he’s ready to show the state what he’s got. “I’m actually ranked third in the city,” he said. “It really came from my coach making me work.”
