Several wildfires are forcing members of a number of First Nations to flee their homes in northern Ontario.

“I had time to run home and pack a bag and get to the beach where the boats were waiting,” said a member of Namaygoosisagagun First Nation (Collins). “We literally had minutes to get on the boats and flee before it took our town. “Once we left my house finally after packing what I could in a pack sack, the fire was right behind our place. We had to run to the beach and once we got there, it was only moments before the fire had jumped over the (train) track and was coming for us.”

The key to writing good fanfiction is to harbor a deeply humiliating desire, and the trick there is that even pretty basic and societally-accepted desires like “being held” and “being wanted” CAN and WILL be humiliating if they’re intense enough. Become so estranged from human connection that the idea of someone playing with your hair fills you with yearning so deep you feel like you’re going to throw up and you will write some banger fanfiction. It might have some other consequences too but idrk about that.

Rewatching atla and my favorite ship is sokka/zuko/suki but my SECOND favorite ship is Katara/azula as they exist in my beautiful mind. I like to think they have the most insane enemies to lovers imaginable as Katara begrudgingly helps rehabilitate Azula. But anyway I like to imagine these ships coexisting because you KNOW zuko would barge into katara’s room like “my SISTER Katara you fucked my sister!!!????” And then he’d be like “she’s off limits” and Katara would just smirk at him and go “okay fair enough, so’s my brother” and zuko would get so upset he spontaneously combusts
