Poffin was the runt of her litter. Ostracized by the other Sneasels, her mama loved her extra & she grew up to have an overinflated ego & a poor grasp of socializing. (Everyone is mean to me & makes fun of me until I get mad, but I'm awesome? Oh, this must be jokes! Haha! Yes! I know how to socialize now!) She tends to prefer people who never contest her incessant need to prod others in an attempt to be funny, meaning she & Creme Brulee get along because they're very laid back & realize she's just trying to get a rise out of them. She considers them her lackey but they always conveniently "forget" to do whatever she commands of them.

She does not know how to hold a baby & Pavlova is the first person she's ever encountered who doesn't get mad or shy away from her teasing. They cry. This is her first inkling that the way she interacts with others is askew. The usually low-key Creme Brulee, who kept Pavlova warm & raised him from an egg, suddenly grows a spine whenever Pavlova is involved, causing Poffin to avoid Pavlova because she doesn't know how to not hurt his feelings.

You know when ducklings hatch & imprint on the first thing they see? Creme Brulee had the inverse response. Warming that egg & watching it hatch immediately made them very attached to Pavlova who they raise like their child. It's like when you adopt a young pet & your previous pet goes "Well, this is our baby now I guess" & also adopts them. Being raised primarily by a Hisuian Typhlosion does mean that Pavlova ends up with some bad posture. Let's have shrimp posture with mama /gn
