Shizuo Heiwajima

Wouldn’t exactly know where to start in teaching something like strength.

–I’ll have you know, I’m not much of a teacher.“

Shizuo really tried to give it some thought this time.

– so you think throwing a few punches is going to help you in the long run?“

Stares blankly at for a minute. No cake?

– Are you threatening me?“

He can’t believe he always forgets his name. Can’t believe he forgot the name of the guy who got him shot so easily.

–Would it be bad if I did?“

Tugs on his sleeve, sniffling.

– Hey– you?“

//Lowkey agrees.

It was a fools thought to think Akane was done with the twenty questions game, but–

It took Shizuo a moment to figure out who exactly she was talking about before it completely clicked, “Oh– Yeah her.” He nodded a second before taking another bite out of his own breakfast.

“I’m actually suppose to meet up with her later this week, she wanted to give me something.” Though why she had to wait until the end of the week was beyond him. “Have you spoken to her lately?”

At the mention of Vorona’s secret present, Akane’s food turned sour. She gulped down a mouthful and then frowned pensively. 

“I see…”

Akane messed around with her pancakes again. This time, she carefully cut the flat pastry into tiny cubed sections with her fork. 

“I’ve seen her,” She began, “but we haven’t talked for a while. I bet she wants to meet you at a cake shop, right? That sounds like her…”

“Too be honest, I’m a bit curious about what it could be? Never knew he as the type to give gifts, ya know?” He smiled looking back at Akane, looking a bite more curious than before.

“Nome-!” Akane replied through a mouthful of fruit. She swallowed and continued, “I think I’ve got it all figured out now. Thanks for listening to me, Shizuo.”

She cut a slice of pancake with her fork, but paused before picking it up. 

It took Shizuo a moment to figure out who exactly she was talking about before it completely clicked, “Oh-- Yeah her.” He nodded a second before taking another bite out of his own breakfast.

It was odd for someone to be this interested in Shizuo’s work, after all the way he dressed gave away a certain other profession, but who knows. Placing the menu down on the table, he stared out the window, speaking almost too non caring.

“I suppose ya could say I’m a body guard.” Was that even the legal term for it? “I protect a debt collector while he’s taking payments.”

“It generally goes pretty well unless someone decides to be dumb and try to start a fight with me.” Those men weren’t ever the smartest of the bunch, “They usually pay after they get out of the hospital at least.”

“…I’ll never understand that…” the woman mused slowly, her expression sympathetic, warm. Sybil’s face no longer had a smile on its contours, but she didn’t seem unhappy, just…serious. Sometimes that just happened, her sudden emotional swings. One minute she seems cheery and sunny, the next she seems contemplative and distant. The way her mood shifted was no reflection on her conversational partner, but just on the way her mind perceived their words. 

“…fightin’ people…gettin’ people deliberately mad…Lettin’ ya know…every country’s got’em…’Murica is especially horrible…I don’t get what’s wrong with my people…thinkin’ they can solve everythin’ with violence…The little girl in me sometimes wonder why we all can’t just read books and try to understand each other…”

Realizing that she was starting to ramble, Sybil curled a black strand of hair around her finger, releasing a tired sigh. “…sorry…didn’t mean to talk endlessly there…when ya’re ‘round me too long, I start to get real chatty…”

“As a matter of fact…I think you have ruined my mood like you do every time I see that rotten face of yours…” The blond growled out, balling his fists together so hard they were turning red, “I’d much prefer to pumble you into the ground, it’d be a great massage for me…”

          「And I prefer you dead in a gutter, after being ran over by a bullet train that is. I think that would be the best massage for you right now, protozoan.」

The informant snapped back, stuffing his hands into the pockets of is jacket with a small smirk on his lips. 

Least scary…?

That was an exaggeration if he ever heard one, but still Shizuo took it as nothing more than at most a half hearted compliment and he really didn’t get many of those from a lot of people.

“Correct.” He spoke softly, a small smile showing before vanishing as if it was just a quick fantasy. 

“Though it seems like a lot of people now a days need their head bashed against a wall– those are the ones ya gotta be careful around.” Yes, he was being slightly protective. 

“Maybe it’s like that because not a lot of people are doing the head-bashing, though! Sometimes bad people get away with doing bad things. But if there was a consequence for everything that they did, do you think more people would behave?”

Sometimes people just wanted to rebel. Maybe they would get caught – but maybe they wouldn’t! And maybe, even if they got caught, no one would do anything too bad… it was all a gamble. There could be those who would risk jail time or a small scuffle for their own selfish ends, but how many people wanted to risk an old-fashioned Shizuo-Heiwajima-Beating?

Though the word hero did get the blond to smile slightly, eyes watching her pretty much getting way too excited by the idea of it.

Even if the stranger seemed to look just like the damn flea, Shizuo was almost absolutely sure by now it couldn’t be to him. This guy didn’t smell like trouble or talk out of his ass. Still– it left the blond at the edge of his seat.

“Shizuo.” He spoke as he put a cigarette in between his lips and lighting it, exhaling a big puff of smoke, “Heiwajima Shizuo.”

“I don’t bother with those news reports, they just piss me off–” Shizuo said pretty bluntly, but still with a small friendly smile, “So what exactly has got you running around in the rain?”

Shizuo.. that sounded familiar.. maybe he was some celebrity? As the other talked about the news he couldn’t help but smile a lil cuz yeah man those guys were way off today.. talk about a flash flood.. Thank goodness he lived in an apartment and didn’t have to worry about a basement getting flooded or something ridiculous..

“Ah well, I’m in IT?” He said at first but knew that didn’t explain anything, “Basically I fix computers but it can be anywhere in the city so some days I’m running around a lot..” He looked out at the rain feeling cold but also warm but also freezing cold.. Warming up was a weird feeling.
