Why are so many deep-sea animals red?❤️
Red is the first wavelength of color to be lost as light decreases with depth, so red things essentially disappear in the deep pelagic zone. Animals that are red, like this Periphyllopsis jelly, appear black and remain camouflaged from their predators and prey. The only light in the midnight zone is the bioluminescence, or “living light,” produced by the animals that live there. Most bioluminescence is usually blue or green. Red skin absorbs these wavelengths of light, keeping this crimson jelly and its ruby-colored relatives hidden from any lurking predators searching for their next meal.
ruins
shoot that's what I shoulda did this weekend, find the weird ruins and capture them with my 4x5
Yknow what’s fucked up about vision and having glasses all your life?
My peripheral vision has always been so blurry it’s basically not even part of how I process my surroundings.
I think if you were to put numbers to it it’s like I’m always processing a scene through a 28mm lens (full frame).
And to add onto it, because my lenses are so thick I tend to get chromatic aberration off axis and reflections from the edges of the lenses.
And it’s just normal.
my favorite part about the twilight zone is when rod serling starts by just tearing into the main character. just the most brutal insults he can think of

I just recently found out about these small self timers. They look like they’d be perfect for my large format camera!
Otherwise my Minolta from the late 70s and Canon from the mid 60s (?) have self timers built in. Electronic on the Minolta and mechanical on the Canon.
Damn, now I have an urge to get an Argus C3
Gijinka of a radio tower i saw last week. Her name is … - .- - .. -.-.
