i'm still a leftist but in my experience women are viewed as expendable in leftist spaces, spoken over, treated as stupid, on a level that is astounding. you can get away with an enormous level of vitriolic hatred for women if you couch it in the right terms

They dumped plastic skeletons in environmentally protected areas, against the literal contracts they had to sign to get the permits to film in environmentally protected areas. Like they not only did a bad ecological thing that freaked out some divers, they literally broke environmental protection laws and their contract with the Italian government

I have also lost more than 115 members of my extended family, including friends and cousins. Every morning, I wake up wishing everything we have been through was only a nightmare, but their faces and laughter now exist only in my memories. Today, my family depends entirely on donations to survive. For a while, we relied on the meals provided by World Central Kitchen, but after threats and restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation, the kitchen was forced to stop operating, and we lost even that simple source of food
