Use this technique to relax when needed. Preferably before stress takes over. Mindful techniques are an excellent tool to minimize anxious states before it happens.
Be nice 🌸

You are doing the best you can in these circumstances
You are doing the best that you know how to do right now
I thought that this might be helpful to talk about.

Important- wish i had learned about this a long time ago.
I will ALWAYS reblog stuff about gaslighting. I’ve been affected by it as others I know. And I don’t wish it on anyone.
fair point;

came across this chart while studying for my abnormal psych final and thought it was interesting. original study: Cognitive Contributions to Personality Disorders by Lobbestael & Arntz (2012)
It’s important to acknowledge your attachment style. By doing so you can understand how you respond to others. Being aware of it, can allow you to start healing and improving your relationships.
When I was four years old, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. What this meant was that I wasn’t going to be like other kids. I had to work harder on social skills, as well as try to overcome other common symptoms found in the spectrum like sensory issues and behaviours that may seem odd at first glance unless you understood why. On the other hand, being autistic meant that I was often fixated on selected topics that interested me, making me appear to be a bit of an expert in that field. This can come in handy for jobs where these skills and interests match very well and I’m motivated to bring out my best.
Now as an adult, things are more nuanced and complicated. While I can be social, I’m wary of large crowds and try to avoid them out of a fear of suffocation. I’m also becoming more sensitive to changes in the surrounding environments, and changing between high intensity tasks at work can be debilitating to a point where my brain and body are forced to “shut down” in a way as a result of the built-up anxiety. Unfortunately, the lack of understanding from some of the important figures around me doesn’t help that much either. If society wants to have autistic people like me be a part of it, then they should try to make an effort in understanding who we are and what our specific needs are for us to properly function and contribute effectively. Mind you, each autistic person’s different, so what needs one autistic person has will be different than another person on the spectrum, much in the same way that each person in the world learns differently and at their own pace. It’s up to everyone to work together in understanding each other’s life rhythms and reach a mutual point of understanding and respect.
If you’re in Canada and you want to better understand autism and how to be a better ally, Autism Canada has a lot of information & resources that you can use to better educate yourself. I also recommend talking with true autism experts like psychologists, social workers and self-advocacy groups. In the meantime, please be patient and understanding. We’re all trying to live in this complex and beautiful world for a short time, so it’ll be great to look for the common humanity in all of us.

Your Feelings Are Valid!

For everyone struggling in quarantine that wants to kill themselves...
Don't kill yourself until BNHA finally ends.
Don't kill yourself until you read all the fanfiction that you've been putting off reading.
Don't kill yourself until you see every piece of fanart for your OTP.
Don't kill yourself until you've eaten all the fruit you could ever want.
Don't kill yourself until you have enough money to buy those shoes or dresses or bracelets or books or whatever you've been eyeing since forever.
Don't kill yourself until you see that musical you've always wanted to see live.
Don't kill yourself until the day comes when you can see your friends and family again. Where you can hug them and tell them how grateful you are to have them in your life.
Don't kill yourself. I will keep giving you reasons to keep pushing through to the very end of this thing for as long as it takes. You are strong. You can make it through this. You are brave and I love you so much.
This will end. Even if things are always different after this, the changes might be for the better. Change is progression. Progress is a sign of humanity learning and understanding the world better.
