Small rant inbound,
tldr: therapy is super good and can be highly effective and helpful, our actions and behaviors are still our own responsibility and accountability for harm or negative responses is still ours to take even knowing there will be hiccups and harsher than needed responses due to prior life events and/or mental conditions, these are indicators of self management that still needs to either be learned or implemented more in future occurrences
Ultimately I am responsible for the decisions I make and the actions I perform, situations and things people are doing to or near me or my life are pressures that function to make particular choices or actions either harder/ easier,
It feels that there is an unfortunate been an unfortunate bell curve of people who are using their issues and emotional responses as a way to side step taking responsibility and accountability of consequences for their behavior and actions by using the "well is not MY fault, its [insert the often self diagnosed issue they plan to user as a scape goat here]"
Abs look i an 100 percent down for therapy and think it's a valid and helpful tool to help a person learn to manage and deal with the difficulties of our lives and situations, but it does feel that there is a subsection of the populace who do not realize that therapy is meant to be used as a way to MANAGE one's self and be able to make better decisions and behaviors occur over time,
Allllssssooooo that is why I feel like Cognitive Behaviorial Therapy (CBT but not the cock and ball torture kind) is a highly adept approach and puts efficacy is well documented at helping a person manage their symptoms while rerouting their behaviors to be more on line with how they want them to be
Nowhere in that though is there a, it's not your responsibility to own your own actions and mistakes,
