Third Times the Charm
"Alright then, lets go then." Roxas held open the door to a view of his town to Joshua. It wasn’t much but he loved, he wondered what Joshua really thought about it compared to home. "You are gonna have to take me to Shibuya one day."
"The clock tower is a spot I have always loved personally. Me and my friends always use to hang out up there." He could see it from where they stood. "You have been in town this long and haven’t went to check it out on top? What are you too busy to breathe too?"
He was joking mostly but also didn’t understand why. “It’s not too far just a little of a climb.”
"Heh heh, who says I've been here for a long time, Roxas? Just because I'm not a freshman doesn't mean I'm not new to the school. Besides, Shibuya is just a train ride away and it's honestly a far more interesting city than this quiet little dab of perpetual sunshine."
The Shibuyan was smirking and chuckled as he walked towards the tower.
"There isn't an elevator? Well isn't that just silly. Now I have another excuse why I've never gone up. I'm not too fond of breaking a sweat you know. But I suppose if the view is as lovely as I'm sure you'll profess, it will be worth at least one climb."
Unwilling Sensei: Vexen- Joshua
Vexen knew he would have been happy, or flattered, to hear that Joshua would join him at another lecture- well, if not for the young blond’s mockery. That quelled the urge to smile and stomped it, pushing the civility back into the icy crevasses of his heart and forcing his usual snark to come forth.
The scientist was backpedalling emotionally, terrified of exposing himself and too proud to accept an admittance.
Vexen was in no small amount, his own worst enemy.
Electric green eyes looked down at Joshua, measuring his worth before the condescending squint that crinkled the edges reappeared, “I wouldn’t need to lecture you if you did not make such simple social mistakes.”
Ah, there was the cold demeanor he had been criticized by his father about.
His fingers drummed idly on his medical bag to distract himself from insulting further. Joshua was a friend, wasn’t he?… Vexen coached himself on his own horrible etiquette and played the conversation back in his head, “It would seem I’m free for a while. I have most of my other projects completed already.”
"Heh heh heh. Social mistakes? But what if society is in the wrong?"
Joshua didn't appear to be affected by Vexen's looks, nor did he give any reaction to show he was aware of the other's inner turmoil. He just stood there, ever smiling, twirling his hair.
A giggle escaped his lips as he stopped playing with one of his messy, curly bangs and let his hands slip into his pockets.
"Great. Free time is a rare thing for you now isn't it? Heh heh heh. And you're going to spend it with me~? Awww, that's so sweet. What do you usually do when you have nothing to do?"
Hachiko and Hot Coffee
”Maybe I will,” he responded rather confidently, following behind Joshua and having to keep a constant eye on the effeminate blonde with a giggle as he went through the crowd.
Xemnas found himself stopping in front of the statue, almost star-struck as he gazed at it, a smile drifting across his features, “Just like I imagined it.” He took his eyes off the bronze statue for just a moment, placing one treat in Joshua’s hand as he placed the other between the dog’s feet and patted him between the ears for luck. He stepped back and thought about his own dogs- Set and Osiris- and how much he missed them. It was very lonely coming back to a dorm without the excited barking and licking that dogs always brought to a home.
Even Ansem’s ‘secretive’ and very illegal kitten did not treat him the same; it seemed she favored her owner no matter how much Xemnas spoiled her. That was alright with him, eventually he’d get to go home and see his boys. Eventually.
But why did it seem like forever?
The politics student turned to Joshua and nodded, “I think I’m done, where else are we going?”
Joshua couldn't stop the chuckle that came from him at the sight of Xemnas gawking at Hatchiko like a classic little tourist. Though telling it was a genuine giggle over the numerous fake little ones that spilled out of his mouth was an impossible task.
"It's just a statue depicting ultimate loyalty in the form of man's best friend. It's not that big of a deal," he purred as he took the treat in hand and placed it by the statue's feet. Joshua was far too short to reach the statue's head, so he made due with patting the polished bronze on the back.
Joshua had never been much of a dog person. Honestly, such loyalty, as great as it was to have, was downright foolish to give away. Blind loyalty makes dogs unable to think for themselves...a pack following the mind of their leader. Unimaginative creatures, really. That was why he preferred cats. Cats were free thinkers. They gave you their time if they deemed it useful to them. They wouldn't just wag their tails after their beloved master beat them down for reasons beyond them.
"Heh heh heh. So are your own dogs as loyal as Hatchiko, do you think? Would they wait for you to come home, even if you never came home again?" he asked as he stepped away from the statue, beckoning Xemnas to follow. He planned to take the older student through the scramble to 104. You can't go to Shibuya and not stop at 104.
Unwilling Sensei: Vexen- Joshua
Vexen almost jumped at the noise, he was so absorbed in his own work of cleaning up and reviewing his results mentally that he completely forgot that Joshua might have arrived.
When the lab assistant motioned him that he was finished he packed up his gear and slung his labcoat on, picking up the medical bag as he usually did, “Was it now? Where were you? Here I thought you’d arrive promptly and sit up front.”
He didn’t want to sound let down; instead he covered it up with a mild layer of condescending attitude. He was actually somewhat disappointed but surprised Joshua showed up at all. Vexen was used to being discouraged and the other’s effort to show up as support without any educational benefit was somewhat pleasing. But Vexen would never admit that.
Emerald eyes glared at the lavender slightly, his eyes crinkling in their effort to appear snide, “And here I put such effort into it.”
Joshua only smiled at his mentor, chuckling as he flipped his hair.
"Noted. I'll be sure to skip my class next time so I can get here early. But the back of the class is the best place to observe. A bigger field of vision of what's happening means you're less likely to miss anything," he replied with a wink.
"I'll sit in the same back right corner from now on, so you know where to look. Heh heh heh."
He flipped his hair again and smiled. "So when's the next talk I should schedule into my week? I rather enjoy listening to your lectures. Especially when they aren't aimed at my behavior."
The Shibuyan matched Vexen's glare with a serene glance. His eyes were perfectly unreadable and were the perfect accompaniment to his mask of a porcelain face.

Third Times the Charm
Hale’s mouth started to water. “Steak sounds good, Pork seems like it would rock my mouth though.”
"Hehe, i’ll show you once we get back home." Roxas smirked and stood. "Lets head on to the next place you are interested in?" He cleaned up a bit and walked over to the counter for a bag for his created item. It seemed like they were in the craft shop for hours but it was still early. Roxas ignored that he was hungry to get on with getting a rise out of his roommate. He wanted him to break out of his shell, if only just a little.
"Pork is a common topping in ramen too. Perhaps if you ever go to Shibuya, you can try real ramen and then decide how you'll judge it," replied the ramen lover as he stood up. He smiled sweetly.
"Keeping me in the dark, are we? Very well, dear roommate. The next place I am interested in is that massive clock tower in the center of town."
It was an interesting sight for sure, but what the ash blond really wanted was to see the city from the top of that tower.
Fly in a plane or a hot air balloon?
Hmmmm a plane. Though hot air balloons are in the open air, planes tend to have more people. More people means more of a scene.
Planes are also a lot faster.
I’m sorry.
Would you share your dragon with me, if you happened to obtain one?
I'd share it's lightning breath. I'll let it shoot you whenever you want.
What is your least favorite food?
Minestrone is possibly the worst thing to ever come out of Italy.

Hachiko and Hot Coffee
Xemnas tried to ignore the fact that after his little moment of embarrassment Joshua was now permanently glued to his hand- forcing him to almost lean over to be tugged behind him. This would have been cute if he could pass Joshua off as a younger brother- which was simply impossible, and it instead came off as a weird sort of familiarity he wasn’t sure he was confident in presenting to the public.
Once he was dragged into the shop he perked up and completely forgot the previous invasion of space to stare around, walking almost at home surrounded by dog products, “Great.” He looked through the products before his fingers landed on a collection of treats for dogs that also served to clean their teeth, “I’m sure he gets enough ones that are bad for him.” Xemnas lifted up two treats that served as toothbrushes for dogs as well as having a beefy taste to cover their healthy purpose, “but he probably needs his teeth cleaned as well. If there is an afterlife, like the Egyptians believed, it is best to give many products one would use while living.” He was obsessed with Egyptian mythology and one could tell simply by his naming of his dogs. Xemnas walked up to the counter and paid for the treats, turning down a bag as he was simply going to put the treats in their place at the dog’s feet.
"Alright let’s go." He wanted to buy souvenirs with Hachiko on them but he doubted he had more room to put them in his dorm. He’d need space for other keepsakes from Shibuya. A memory could serve just as well.
The silver-haired male turned with a confident look, the treats gripped in one hand. One for him and one for Joshua. It wouldn’t matter how many times Joshua had visited the statue- a dog always wanted a treat when you visited.
"Heh heh you know, you should really stop by Shibuya during Hatchi Festival. People come out and pet Hatchiko for luck and to polish the statue at the same time. It's not a big festival, but one of the more culturally stimulating."
Joshua smiled as he started out the door, gesturing Xemnas to follow.
"Don't get lost now. Hatchiko is close to the scramble so it's generally easy to get separated from your friends. But if we do get separated, we can just meet at the statue's base."
The native Shibuyan headed out of the shop and down the street. You'd think his bright silvery blonde hair would make him easy to spot in a crowd, but Shibuya proved to have all sorts of 'unique' people with their own stylish flair. Nobody would give you a strange look here if you decided to give yourself a rainbow mohawk.
Once he was near the statue, he smiled and looked behind him. "There he is, Xemnas," he purred as the bronze statue glinted in the light in front of them.
The Artist's Muze
eternal-nocturne:
It started when he found the cat. Strange things always happened at Twilight Town University- it had many different kinds of students from many places, so this sort of stuff always happened. The staff never had found the rest of those chickens from a “high school prank revisited,” and every now and again some baby chicks would pop up in some unlikely place, like the fume hood in the chemistry lab.
But no, this cat was definitely following him. Its gaze seemed too -human- for a feline. Where had it come from? Aside from the occasional fish or gerbil, pets weren’t allowed on campus, and the cat did have a collar. “Come here, kitty,” Demyx said to it. He squatted down and offered one hand out, but the animal seemed wary. “Where did you come from?”
It took a few slinky steps forward, but still scoffed at his hand. Demyx reached out and grabbed it, expecting a struggle, but the cat neither submitted nor struggled. He reached for the collar. The collar only contained a name, and an email. “Muze,” Demyx thought. “That’s kind of ironic.” Well, now he would have to find the owner.
Joshua was a believer of a free spirit and left the window of his apartment open as a come and go option for his illegal feline. But she was normally back in his dorm room for food by noon...so what was keeping her?
For a moment he wondered if she had been caught. He didn't have any information on her collar except her name on a bell, but that was enough of a symbol to know she belonged to somebody. If the wrong person found her, it would just be a bad situation over all...
But she was his good girl. Sneaky girl. She wouldn't get captured so easily. Either way, the Shibuyan opted to pull on a jacket and head out to look for her. His first stop was near the trees where she liked to hunt.
