The Cost of Duty

Castiel rides into King John Winchester’s capital with his celestial armor still gleaming and exile still fresh on his back. Denied by the Order that raised him and stripped of his rank for daring to attempt to rescue his sister, he has only one option left. He’s come to the king's court seeking aid to rescue his beloved sister from the clutches of an abusive marriage. Castiel feels duty-bound to save her at all costs. He didn't expect the cost to be his heart.

I got this idea about Dean being stopped by the vision of librarian!Cas who looks up behind his glasses and Rachel wrote an absolutely adorable story for this art. I can't recommend it enough. I draw a second piece with Dean, you can guess who he is looking at instead of studying ;) And a portrait of Meg, the most gorgeous little kitten. I loved to draw all of these, I hope it comes through. And now shhhh... go read the fic!
