âCan anything good come out ofâ ......the vegetable section?
So we were doing some treasure hunting and one of the clues I received was âvegetable aisleâ.
So we went over to the vegetable section and looked around to see if there was anyone matching our other clues or if there was someone God was highlighting to us. At first there was no one there. A couple minutes later there were a couple people who showed up but none of them really stood out to us. I assumed I heard the clue wrong so I was ready to just look around the rest of the store. But then one of our team members started staring at this one woman (and stared for a couple of minutes lol) and said that she really felt like we should talk to her. The woman kept standing in the vegetable section and wouldnât leave and we just knew she had to be the treasure that God wanted us to find.Â
We approached her (not really know what to say or how to start a conversation), and we just asked if thereâs anything she needs prayer for. She was like âOMG... wow.... there is so much I need prayer for right now. You came at the exact right moment.â She went on to tell us that she was struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts and that she was at her lowest point. I showed her my piece of paper that had my treasure hunting clues on it and showed her that we were looking for someone in the vegetable section. She looked at it and said, âWell, here I am in the vegetable section!âÂ
We then proceeded to bless her, and prophesy the truth of the Fatherâs heart over her and encourage her. Her friend later came over and we got to pray for her and bless her too! Afterwards, both of them seemed refreshed and renewed and a little bit shocked at what just happened in the middle of a vegetable aisle!
God loves revealing the treasure that is hidden everywhere and anywhere, all over the world! Even if itâs in the vegetable section!
I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Hosting Godâs Presence
So last Wednesday, Nicole was telling me about a blog post Jon sent her about Burn 24/7 and how they got to minister to people during the riots up in Baltimore. They got to pray for the gang leaders from the area and went to the pray for the protesters out on the streets. I remember thinking to myself that that was so beautiful but little did I know we would end up doing the same thing (without the gang leaders part) in our city that very night.
After work, Nicole and I went to prayer meeting as usual but were strongly encouraged by some of the others to go out and do what we had read in the blog instead. So.. we did. I was so scared to go out.. like God what if someone punches me in the face? Or I get arrested by being in the wrong place in the wrong time.. how do I talk to these people? what do I do?? It didnât help that right as we walked out, we saw groups of protesters walking around, chanting, and I was so clueless. There was so much going on with protesters, the police, the media people trying to catch everything on camera and I had no idea where to even begin. We texted Jon to join us and stood in the middle of the street waiting for him to join.
It just so happened where we decided to wait was in the middle of everything. Multiple groups of protesters passed us to make their rounds in the city, police groups were walking to patrol the groups that just passed, higher up police people were making executive decisions on what to do.. and Nicole and I were in the middle of it- declaring presence, peace, love, light, and mercy on them as they passed. After Jon joined us, we decided to go to Union Square. When we got there, we saw a couple of people, one black man in particular, arguing with a black police officer. We prayed for Godâs peace to be released and thankfully the argument ended with the officerâs supervisor calling him to a different position. We were standing there trying to discern what to do when I felt like God wanted me to thank and encourage another officer who had been standing next to the one in the heated discussion. So I went up to him and told him that I felt like God was proud of him and was thankful of him doing a good job and it looked like he appreciated it.
After that, the three of us decided to go see if we could find a group of people marching because Union Square was pretty empty when we got there. As we were walking, there were other people going to join a group too. I got to talk to one of the girls, Steph, and share with her that sheâs someone who loves to see justice because He is a just God and sheâs made in His likeness. Sheâs actually living in London and is going to join the protest there in a few days as well. Hope God uses you to do big things Steph~
As we walked, we ran into a group of people and as we were looking to see what was going on, there was this man trying to pick a fight with everyone passing by. People were stopping to talk back, take pictures, etc. and it was so chaotic. I felt like the enemy was so pleased and loved it there, like it was his Disneyland and there were so many rides to choose from- the drunk man picking fights, the angry protesters wanting to fight, the photographers trying to capture every little thing. I think it was right when we had gotten there, the man had assaulted a woman trying to take pictures of him and that really angered the crowd. Other people started taking pictures and this all happened right in front of our faces! Iâm probably in the background of a bunch of those pictures looking like a deer caught in headlights -.-
As the protesters were arguing with the police, because they had to form a human barricade to protect the drunk man, we continued to pray for peace to be released. I felt, again, that we were supposed to encourage the police officers. They faced so much anger and hate because they chose this career. They werenât the actual individuals who were involved in the events but, because of the uniform they put on, they have to endure all that negativity. I felt like we were supposed to remind them of their reasons for wanting to join the police force in the first place and to encourage them as well. So, if you see a police officer, encourage them! Haha
We headed back to church office after that incident died down. I was thinking that it might have looked like we were just standing there staring at what was going on to some people but I really believe that our presence in the midst of all that happened that day really had an impact on the city.
Thank you God for using us.
-Jenny

Ezric(k)
After a bunch of us saw Furious 7 at Times Square, we were taking the escalators down and I couldn't stop looking at the dude in front me who was blind. I kept telling God, "Man God, one day I want to be able to pray for that. One day... But not today because I don't have enough faith for it yet..."
I don't know why, but I was trying to tell Anna this, who was right behind me. But I think all she heard was me say, "I'm going to pray for him." So she said, "What?! You're going to pray for him?!" & all I could think was, "WHUT?!....no.."
But then she said, "You should pray for him. You have nothing to lose and you'll regret it if you don't." & I knew once she said the last part, she was absolutely right.
So naturally, I made her approach the blind man and his friend with me.
Honestly I don't even remember what I said because I was so crazy nervous. I started talking to the friend first, trying really hard to get a coherent sentence/question/anything out.
The friend, whose name was David, was surprisingly so open and friendly and told me plainly, "It's okay. Go ahead. What is it? Just ask me?" We talked for a little bit and what struck me was when David said the dude was his son. I was surprised since David seemed too young to be his dad. I asked him, "Wait, he's your son?" And he replied, "No not by blood. But I think of him like a son and I like to take him out sometimes." Wow. talk about love right thurrrrr......
Anyways, somehow we managed to then ask if we could pray for healing for eyesight.
The actual person we wanted to pray for turned out to be a fairly young guy (maybe high school kid?). He was partially blind--his right eye was opaque. He was also very open and his name was Ezric(k).
This is all I remember of our conversation: A+N: "Ezric(k)??" E: "Yeah Ezric(k). Like Ezra + Eric" A+N: "Do you mind we place our hands over your eye?" E: "Yeah I'm fine with it. Do whatever you need to do."
Again, I don't remember what I prayed because I was freaking out and so nervous. Once we finished praying for him, before we could even ask him if there was any change, Ezric(k) immediately began sharing this:
"You know one of my favorite verses is Isaiah 35:5. I live by that verse. I know God doesn't make mistakes and my parents didn't do anything wrong for me to come out the way I did. I believe God will use this and heal me."
In that moment, I think Anna and I were both blown away. Wow Ezric(k) had such faith. Anna cried. Anna hugged Ezric(k). & then David and Ezric(k) walked away.
After this encounter, it was a très emotional ride back home. I was already emotional from the movie but meeting Ezric(k) and getting to pray for him was really big for me. It was the first time I prayed for blindness. Yes while it would've been cool to witness him receiving full eyesight, honestly, in the end that mattered less.
I was so amazed. AMAZED. All I could think was "wow God I had such little faith but you were still so faithful and you showed up. You moved." I was so humbled. I was so thankful that Anna & I could have the chance to hopefully bless Ezric(k) in some shape or form. It was so beautiful. God was so real and so beautiful in this encounter. I felt like even the smallest details, the fact that both dudes' names were biblical(sh) and they were both so kind and open and clearly honored each other with love, were all part of God encouraging me, "It's okay Nicole. You can pray for it. I'm here."
Once again, witnessing the blind seeing would've been crazy but I think what matters more than the results is my "yes" to God. Yeah I want to see people I pray for get healed. But until that happens, I want to demonstrate to God that I'm just gonna keep saying "yes" to whoever he places before me. I might hesitate still, it might take me 5 flights of escalators to muster up courage, but I want to be someone who always gives God my "YES". I want to be fearless.
& that's eggxactly what God is making me. & not only me, but our RCF family too! So thank God that he desires for us to be fearless. Our risks are His joy!
"Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped;" - ISAIAH 35:5

Jer during outreach.
Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
Psalm 139:7-10
