What could I do with a degree in history? I'm thinking about a minor in history...
Are you asking what you can do with a Bachelor’s in history or are you asking what you can do with a minor in history?Â
You can’t do a lot related to history just with a minor in it. It really depends on what your major is.
If your major is history, check out this list with job options, potential employers and strategies.

Hi there, I was wondering what I could do with a major in biology. I was thinking maybe using it as a stepping stone, but I'm not sure
Yea, most people recommend getting an advanced degree if you choose biology simply because many biology jobs require it.
You should check out this list. It has job biology options broken down by industry with potential employers and strategies.
I'm only a freshman in high school but everyone is pressuring me to look at colleges but Idk what I want to do in the first place????? And my gpa is not the best(2.5) so have no idea
Forget about looking at colleges and stuff right now. Just spend the next year or so figuring out who you are.
Find your passions. What do you do in your free time? What makes you smile? Figure out what you like - even if it’s something you don’t think there are any jobs for. (There are probably a lot of jobs out there that you don’t know about yet.)
That’s it. Don’t start trying to look at colleges and stuff right now. Just keep your grades up and try to figure yourself out. You have plenty of time to look for colleges later.
I'm a senior in high school and I might end up attending a community college. I'm afraid of going and finding out that nearly everyone there would be twice my age. Do only older people usually attend a community college?
That’s an original fear. I haven’t heard that one before lol but it’s not one you need to worry about.
There were a couple older people in a few classes at my community college - like maybe there would be one old person in one class every semester. I was definitely never outnumbered by old people.
Also, all the old people in my classes were pretty cool. They studied a lot and were usually very helpful and encouraging.Â
The classes I took with lots of old people were actually senior year at the university I attended. Some of the senior-level classes I took were also open for graduate students, and there are a lot of older graduate students.
HOWEVER, if the class has a curve, old people can ruin it because they study a lot more. They usually have their shit together and are better at time management, so they tend to make really good grades.
I am currently freaking out! My life has turned upside down and I'm going back and forth between options. This hopefully is an appropriate place to ask. I just finished my first year at a university, less finished and more academic dismissal. After the first semester I switch my original major to Communication/Journalism. One of my current options is to go to the local community college. Would it be worth it to get an Assossciate's Degree in Communications there?
Don’t freak out. Everyone makes mistakes. Getting an Associate Degree can never hurt you.Â
I was involved in the journalism department at the community college I went to. My major was graphic design, but I took a few journalism classes and worked on the student newspaper.
It was super fun, and I learned a lot. You will get a lot more experience at a small school because the publication staffs will probably be smaller than at the university you were at. That means you will get more bylines and clips.
Once you feel like you’ve gotten the hang of classes at the community college, it will be time to transfer to a university. You could reapply at your current university and show them that you’ve kept your GPA up and been successful. They will probably give you another shot.
