â The Secret Coffee Diaries of Kazakhstan â
We didnât choose the coffee life. The coffee life chose us.
Fun fact: Before we became specialty coffee roasters, we were just two caffeine-deprived souls in Almaty, drinking that instant coffee with Soviet-era condensed milk (you know the one). Then we tried real Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.
The rest is history.
Now we: âď¸ Smuggle rare beans through Central Asian borders (legal-ish) âď¸ Brew coffee in a 1970s Soviet percolator (itâs elite) âď¸ Put horse milk in flat whites (donât knock it till you try it)
Question for you: Whatâs the weirdest coffee tradition where YOU live? (We once served a customer who added butter to espresso. It was⌠an experience.)
