my #1 piece of college advice for you youngsters would be to always keep a phone charger, snacks, and an umbrella in your backpack at all times
I’M GETTING THAT FUCKING A (EVEN IF IT KILLS ME) // for when instrumental music is not enough, when you’re on your last cup of coffee and the sun’s about to rise, when aggressive dancing is the only way to stay awake long enough to finish this damn assignment [listen] [keep]
Hello. How come pretty much all studyblrs have macbooks? Are there any that don't? And is there any way to get one really cheap, I honestly don't understand how people have money to buy them.
Well… Not all studyblrs have macbooks (#notallstudyblrs). A macbook isn’t a required studying material, it’s just the common choice of laptop. You can totally use any kind of laptop you want! It’s your preference! Apple laptops are incredibly expensive, I would check Apple for refurbished computers, they tend to be a better deal (without having to worry about getting ripped off !!)
You don’t NEED a Macbook, or Fineliners, or a fancy planner to study well. All you need is motivation, determination and concentration.
I think a lot of people get wrapped up in the aesthetic of studying, and forget to do the actual studying.

Rory Gilmore is a super important role model in education. She doesn’t just dedicate herself to learning because she cares about grades, but because she’s passionate about learning inside and outside of school. Passion is the fuel of knowledge. Hope her work ethic can help boost yours as we all head into that end of year madness! Good luck with whatever exams you’re taking, but don’t just admire her dedication. Go study, even if it’s only for a few minutes. Learning is never something you will come to regret and the success will be well worth the extra time.
Study tip:
Use 2 notebooks when taking notes: one for in class and one for copying the notes at home. The one in class, make it messy with add-ins, subtext, etc etc! Take down as much info as you can. Then, after class, take those messy, hard-to-read notes and re-copy them into your home notebook. These are the ones you study off of so make them neat and clear to understand!
I used to do this in high school!
Re-writing the notes will also help with retention of information, because you’re thoroughly going through the information a second time.
It will also help you focus on the lecture instead of busying yourself with making tidy notes, especially if you’re like me and have very messy writing when you try to write quickly (or write anything at all really).
This technique will encourage you to leave the laptop at home. Studies show typed notes hinder performance.
I usually take notes in class and then retake my own notes from the textbook as the test approaches. Then I review all the notes– so it’s like I read the book before class, took notes in class, reread the book/took my own notes based on that reread, & then review both sets of notes. It’s been pretty effective for me.
Psychology revision notes from my exam this year ~ one page per essay plan… needless to say a lot of post-it notes were used to cram more info in
