i am by any means NOT a homophobe but i think the trope where the husband realize he's into men and the wife just have accept it or else she's a bigot is really trash and just a bad writing. it forces the wife to act like an understanding saint and be a cheerleader for her husband even though realistically she shouldve and wouldve been devastated because then their whole marriage is fake and his feelings for her were never true. same goes for the husband who realizes he's bisexual, it defeats the whole purpose because being bi literally means you can like BOTH genders. i hate to say it but it's really a double standard because what makes it any different than the husband falling for another woman? i'm not saying coming out queer to your partner is bad but most of the time the husband would go for another man while the wife letting herself be a cuck is so weird to me
