Post-PFRP problem #1: Accidentally logging in.
Colours..
Yes, I think A.I Claws would look quite good with more colour. I’m sure I could find something around here - perhaps I can make use of the paint we used for football? That’s..that’s here, in the rec room, isn’t it?
But you’re..absolutely right, Agent. That would be quite cool. [ He wasn’t quite sure what a superhero was, but if Bismarck thought it was cool, it probably was. Still, he made a note to look into it later. ]
I think that sounds quite promising, certainly amusing; can you imagine a little guy like A.I Claws fighting things? He’s very small. Look, he’s even saying so.
[ He cocks his head, smiling fondly at the scribbly imitation of the crab. He’s pretty happy with it. Pegasus’ mood dulls a little at the mention of Lincoln, however. He does feel a kind of a…pull toward the Agent - which makes sense, they are connected after all - but his implantation means that Pegasus no longer belongs to the same team as Bismarck…or Calvin, or Lyra, or Concord. It’s really quite unfortunate. Just another way Pegasus’ life is painfully controlled, just another way he’s no more than a possession or object to be traded around. But it’s okay, he guesses, - it’s not like he’s now prohibited from interacting with his old teammates or anything. He doesn’t think he could deal with that. ]
Ah..yes, Agent Lincoln. He has been very kind to me so far, I expect that our partnership will be worthwhile, however long it may or may not last. How is Pyxis, if you don’t mind me asking? I last spoke to him in Meridian. He didn’t seem particularly impressed by my recommendation to visit the sprinklers in the park, though.
[Pyxis. HIs expression darkened in a way that was more a wrinkling of the forehead than anything. It cleared up right away. He liked Pyxis but had been avoiding him. The kiddo had pushed a little bit too far and instead of dealing with the situation he'd just been icing his partner out. Maybe for the best, maybe not. Still there were the sprinklers. A vague answer would be okay. Peggy had given one too and then changed the topic. He could do the same.] Yeah, he's a square, can't really be helped. We did go to and hang out in the sprinklers though. He flipped a lid and freaked out on some pinata, it was pretty radical. [There that was done. He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck and looked away from Pegasus. Now on to the fun stuff.] As far as Claws goes though, he wouldn't even really haveta fight or anything. You can be a hero without like, kickin serious butt. Maybe his power is like, clicking his claws in a way that like, I don't know... what if he clicked his claws and then like people started really gettin down? Like his claw clicking just flipped on the jive switch on any square. That'd be pretty cool, I think.

Shooty Time || Columbia & Bismarck
Columbia looked up from the gun. He didn’t even know what was wrong with it yet. Stealing parts might help but that also could get his ass in trouble. Columbia definitely didn’t feel like getting shit for fixing his baby.
"Since I cleaned it last night. I must have been distracted and put it together wrong or maybe I forgot to put something back in. Probably a coil or something small." Columbia began to wiggle out the shotgun shell so when he did figure out what was wrong it wouldn’t go off and kill someone. That’d just be his luck too.
"Yeah, let’s go take one from storage so I can figure out what’s missing." Columbia stood up leaving the shotgun on the bench. No one would take a dismantled shotgun.
"Yeah, nothin' like a good trip to storage to get your heart pumping." Bismarck said. He scratched the side of his face and began walking out of the shooting range. The last time he'd been in storage had been... less than fun. He'd told several cringe inducing jokes by the time they got to storage, and he punched the button on the side of the door and it slid open because that's how space ships work. He stepped inside and breathed in the familiar dusty smell. And sneezed. "Well I figure I got a couple of things to get in here too." Bismarck said, looking around and wiping his nose on the back of his hand. He drifted over towards the ammunition and knelt down and began rummaging through boxes. "Y'know, I like keeping my own room stocked. It's one of those things were, y'know after that attack? Yeah, I just figure it's best to sorta be prepared. Heck, I'd like to have my armor in there too, 'cept I wouldn't want to trip over it goin to the bathroom at night or somethin, which would probably happen if I kept it in there." He was piling ammo on the floor, clips for his magnum, strips of bullets for the AIE and mercury tipped expanding rounds even though he didn't really have a sniper rifle to put them in but figured hey, why not? He stood up and hovered around the other guns, looking but not really caring much. The room was huge and there were shelves everywhere. He'd gotten what he needed though. "So, why are you so into shotguns?"
[Ah yes. His plan had worked - someone had noticed, and not only was it a someone, it was an Agent Bismarck. Radical. ]
…Thank you, Agent. I think it’s quite satisfactory for a first try, myself.
[ Actually, its a bit more than satisfactory, he decides — he’d gotten the number of legs right every panel. ] Maybe I could indeed turn it into a series…admittedly, I have not considered it but I will most certainly keep your suggestion in mind. Do you have any ideas for future installments?
[He clapped Peggy on the back.] Have you thought about adding colors, kiddo? Colors are pretty radical, I'm sure someone round here has some on them. Like with, y'know, colored pencils or markers or paints or somethin. But maybe like, what if A.I. Claws is a little superhero and like, no one knows it? So we're here doing our thing and Claws is fighting crime across the galaxy an' what not. That'd be cool.
[And Pegasus still wasn't on Delta anymore. He itched the side of his head.]
Y'know, I met you're new Agent the other day. Steady guy.
[ Pegasus, well, he’d picked up his notebook and was drawing again. His conversation with one Agent Jefferson, and the presence of dear little A.I Claws, had inspired him. And besides, he’d felt a strange sort of obligation to draw something after he had told not one, but two people that it was a hobby of his. After all, a ‘hobby’ was an activity carried out regularly. ]
Damn. Yeah, that was one hell of a comic. And it was very truthful too, especially the part about Claws being radical. The only real inaccuracy (besides the quality of drawing) was in the fact that the little guy was talking. ]
[ Pegasus (casually) sits back, (just as casually) sets the notebook open on the table, surveys the rec room and quietly hopes somebody notices (also rather casually). ]
[He tried to see the notebook just by leaning over the couch and squinting, and finally just decided to bite the bullet and walk around and pick up the notebook. As a rule he didn't like reading, but this really didn't count. When he was done he sat on the couch and looked over at Peggy.] I kinda wish I could do that. You got a great little story here, y'know that? [He knew he'd been the one to teach Pegasus the word radical. He beamed with pride.]
Heck, if I could draw like that? I'd make it a full blown series.
Delta Team Building Exercise #40 || Team A || Bi/Ca/Or/Ch
"If someone has to tell you that the answer to that insipid rhyme, then there is no help for you.”
He marched ahead of them, leading them to the medbay, entering the code and stepping aside as the doors slid open.
He scratched the side of his face.
It had never occurred to him that Orion and Cal didn't like each other so much.
And Pete with a broken leg? He winced a little, underneath his smile.
"So uh, sayin that the clues are obvious and whatnot aside, why don't we go ahead and fix up Pete here, y'know, I figure Orion you got some practice with the medical stuff, and maybe we just sorta do this."
He kept his distance from the examination table and put his hands in his pockets. Not his cup of tea.
"Hey, I got one, how do you make a skeleton laugh?." A pause. "You tickle his funny bone." Bismarck cracked his knuckles.
Delta Team Building Exercise #40 || Team A || Bi/Ca/Or/Ch
Orion did not wish to be here. He did not want to be part of a group or team. But refusing to attend would draw attention at a time Orion very much needed the opposite.
So he showed up. And he listened to the completely obvious, poorly written clue. And then he was more than a little shocked when no one seemed to instantly understand it.
"I am very surprised that you have all lived this long," was his irritated mutter, arms folded. "This is hardly difficult.”
Cheyenne was annoyed that Concord had managed to put her with one of the people she least wanted to be with, but she had to power through it, or whatever. She doubted that a scavenger hunt would be the best bet for a simulation of battle, but it was better than nothing. Yet she had better things to do with her time, not stand around with a bunch of guys and listen to them prattle on about toilets.
“If you know so much, why don’t you just lead us there?” She snapped at Orion, not even trying to contain her dislike for his haughty attitude at this point. “My best bet is that it’s either the medical bay or the restoration lab. Like Calvin said, those are the two most obvious places used for fixing things.”
Unless he was talking about her engineering table, but she doubted that that had anything to do with “admitting the need” or whatever.
Bismarck blinked and looked from person to person. Cal was acting all stiff and angry again, not almost-cool like he had during football. That was expected though. Orion was acting all stiff and also angry. Not expected. He made a mental note to tell him a little joke later. Cheyenne was acting... well she was actually giving answers instead of just saying she knew them, which was a heckaroo of a lot better than what the other two were doing so he cuffed her on the shoulder and grinned and turned around. "Alright kiddos, let's go over to medbay then!" He said, leading the way out of the library.

Delta Team Building Exercise #40 || Team A
He didn't like the smell of books. But he did like teambuilding. He turned over the card in his hand and squinted at the handwriting without really reading it. Concord's handwriting sure was nice. He turned it upside down, then right side up. "...most are too stubborn to admit the need? What the heckaroo?" His brow furrowed. He squinted at the card, and then looked at the rest of the group. "Is he talkin bout the bathroom?" He shrugged and squinted at the card again. "I went before I came."
Shooty Time || Columbia & Bismarck
Columbia was already stripping the gun apart. He was pretty sure that it wasn’t going to blow up in his face and this had to be fixed before the next mission. A guy could only take out so many people with his bare hands.
"I was cleaning it last night. You might be right about the bolt not being greased enough." He was pretty sure that he had greased everything that needed it last night. But there was always the possibility he had forgotten something. Sulking and cleaning a gun didn’t really go together.
"I don’t use anything weird. Guy in PT used some weird ass shells in his shotgun and he lost an arm. Seeing that when learning how to use a shotgun is enough of a lesson to stay away from weird stuff." Columbia paused immediately afterwards, wondering if that could be taken the wrong way.
"Not that your gun’s weird, Bis."
"As a matter of, y'know, curiosity, what have you been usin to grease it? The gun lube they give here evaporates kinda quick, not that heat should be a big issue with a shotgun, but I prefer motor oil even if it's messy as the day is long, cause I know when my gun gets hot it's not goin nowhere. Anyway, I figure that if y'want we could go down to storage and pick up another one, and just swap some parts 'round till it works right. Wouldn't let Calvin see that though, he's not big into stuff like that I guess." He cracked his knuckles and picked up his own gun and though about firing it off but heck he knew it was working okay for the most part so he stepped back and put it on the table. Not like anyone was gonna steal it. So he clapped his hands and rubbed them together like he was plotting something. "How long's it been messed up again?" They hadn't had a real honest to heck mission in so long, it seemed kinda weird that the kiddo had messed up his gun right in the middle of what stood for peacetime on the Equinox.
Engine Room Crabwalking || Vela & Bismarck
He'd decided that he was pretty good at yoga and the engine room was the best place to do it, because it was warm to begin with and got him nice and limber. Of course he was wrong on both fronts. He was awful at yoga and with all the sharp edges and hot equipment the engine rooms had, they were terrible locations for any sort of zen activity. He was doing a new position that he had named 'lift butt off the ground and walk around on hands and feet with your stomach facing up' because he wasn't sure if crabwalking was trademarked or not and didn't want to get in trouble by the trademarkers. He'd been moving from one room to another, half because walking with his butt off the ground and on his hands and feet with his stomach facing up was zen as heck, but also because he was trying to find some place to throw himself out of the position so he could assume the holy heck I was just crabwalking for twenty minutes that was a bad idea position and rest for a few minutes. He'd had enough of yoga for the day. He'd also had about enough of the engine rooms which were very quickly starting to remind him of something else entirely, especially with no distractions. Bismarck stopped in his crab tracks. There was the silhouette of someone doing something. "Hey, what's up?" He said from the floor, his butt off the ground and his hands and feet planted on the floor and his stomach facing up. Was slight back pain zen? He made a mental note to ask Augusta. He grinned as he tried to blink his eyes into adjusting.
Chucking the Pigskin || Bismarck, Peter, Pegasus, Calvin
Calvin, having turned his attention to Bismarck as the man impressively took down Peggy, wasn’t expecting for his position to reverse. After an awkward, confusing, and blurred moment, he found himself trapped under Peter, the pillow discarded to the side.
Damn.
Before he could struggle, Peter’s intentions dawned on Calvin and his eyes widened with shock. Craning his neck, the unit looked in the direction of the human man, fearful that he might fall into Peter’s trap.
"Bismarck! Do not answer the door! Get the ball!”
"Who's there?" Bismarck asked as he dove after the ball, his armor making a horrible grinding sound on the floor. Was the floor still lava? He didn't even remember anymore. The ball was in his hands though and he came to a stand and... did not know what to do. Calvin was under Peter. Peggy was probably in pursuit. He looked at Peggy. He couldn't outrun him, that was for sure. He looked at Cal underneath Pete. So he pulled back his arm and sent the ball sailing towards Peter's head, not in a spiral, but more in a disjointed tumble through the air.
Whale Music || Lincoln and Bismarck
Rad. Jive. Square.
Bismarck certainly had some, uh, interesting slang.
He had to agree, though. Lincoln was fairly sure that he had lucked out with Pegasus, in multiple ways. One, it seemed that Pegasus was one of the nicer A.I. on the ship. Though Lincoln had not interacted with many of them yet, some he had seen seemed fairly stand-offish, or calculating, or just straight-up not fond of humans. And two, Pegasus so far didn’t seem the type to ask a lot of intrusive questions.
Tentatively, Lincoln would so far say that he liked Pegasus. The A.I. was nice to spend time with, and there were precious few people alive that Lincoln would say he enjoyed spending time with them. He was calming, in an odd way. Relaxing to be around.
And had he just gotten an invitation to play sports?
"I’d like that." Lincoln was surprised to realize that he actually genuinely meant it. He’d been big into sports before. He’d known the stats of every cricket player, the history for the past few decades, the win/loss rate of every regional team. "Next time you have a game, sign me up."
When Bismarck stopped to peer down, Lincoln stopped. He’d heard something behind him, like metal scrabbling against tile, and had he seriously just heard a squeak?
He twisted, reached behind him. His fingers closed around something moving, which was almost surprising enough to make him drop it. A few feet away, a fucking mechanical crab scuttled away, beyond reach. And Lincoln held in his hand a goddamn mouse, made out of metal, that didn’t look too happy.
Could be a pet. On the other hand, it could have a camera, a microphone, or any sort of micro-bomb or weapon. This warranted further investigation. Lincoln put the mouse in his jacket pocket, making sure to zip it up so the mouse couldn’t escape, then turned back to Bismarck.
"Maybe I could teach you guys how to play cricket. You ever played cricket?" Lincoln shuffled closer to peer down at what Bismarck was looking at. A bed? This was either creepy or cautious, and Lincoln wasn’t sure which one.
"Whoa hey what the heckaroo was that?" He asked, squinting into the distance. Whatever, Linc had it under control. If the guy was one thing, he was under control. Not that it was a bad thing at all. Bismarck cracked his knuckles. "Alright, so down here is a room on the way side of the medbay where me and Orion crashed through, so I figure we just jump down on this bed..." He cocked his head at Lincoln's wiggling pocket. "You, uh, got an animal in your pocket or are ya just happy to see me?" He cupped a hand to his ear. Squeaking? He cocked his head the other way and furrowed his brow and chuckled. "Y'know what? I'm not even gonna ask, kiddo. I'm gonna just assume that's a grenade or somethin in there." He looked past Lincoln into the distance again. He was sure he'd seen something or other and the other guy reaching for it. He blinked. Not his business. "Uh, what was I sayin again? Cricket?" He itched the back of his head and his eyes drifted towards the squeaking and wiggling pocket. "Oh yeah!" Okay, there was his train of thought again. "Alright, so we're just gonna jump down here and then I figure we could talk some cricket 'cause I've never play-" He stopped and looked at the pocket again. "Dude, what in the name of all that is frickadoodle is that?"

Whale Music || Lincoln and Bismarck
The ship, as Lincoln had measured, seemed to be roughly two-point-four kilometers long. With a length like that, and the seven floors it had on it, he’d guess that it was meant to house anywhere between seven thousand and thirteen thousand people. Settlers, he’d figured, which made it all the more interesting when it was possibly being used a war ship.
The question was—had the Director intended on fully populating the ship? Was the size to contain something? Was the make of it used to disguise its path, making an excuse for going to the destinations it did? Or had he merely gotten his hands on the first available ship he could find?
Dutifully, he stayed the recommended five feet behind Bismarck. The man had a good eye, and so far, he hadn’t missed anything. Once, Lincoln thought he might have spotted what looked to be a goddamn mouse, only metallic, but it had been quick and off in the distance, so probably just some scrap metal and weird lighting.
"I’m paired with Pegasus," he answered vaguely, distracted by examining a vent grate and peering down below into what looked like some kind of common room. "You’re heavy weapons? Nice. Gotta say, you’re nothing like the kind of guys I’ve met before that go into that specialization." Lincoln paused, the edge of his smile only barely visible in the low light, but audible in his voice. "I meant that as a compliment, believe me."
Bismarck stopped crawling in his tracks and looked over his shoulder. Well, Pegasus wasn't on Delta anymore, which sucked. Not that the teams had to be set in stone or anything. He still felt a hint of disappointment. "Dude, you're with Peggy? Oh man, yeah, he's such a rad guy, lemme tell ya, you really lucked the heck out. We played this great game of football, he's real cool, believe me. Y'know, some of the people on this ship are kinda square, but he's jive as can be. You don't gotta worry there." He started crawling again. Oh yeah, Annapolis was good as dead. He hadn't thought about that much yet. Pegasus might not feel too good about that. He pushed those thoughts aside and turned a corner. "Yeah though, I know what you mean 'bout some of the people into big guns. Usually big kinda guys, real mean streaks to them, I know the stereotype. Oh yeah, and you were just lookin into the rec room, that's where we played football. Fun stuff, lemme tell ya. You're a sturdy guy, you should throw on your armor and come if we do it again sometime." He'd stopped above a section of new tiles and peered around. Nothing that he could see, so he hooked the bottom of the tile with his fingernails and pulled it up and peered down. The bed was still there.
