how do you make your mood boards they are like woahhhhhh
awwww thank you so much! and thank you for asking!!
since Iâm getting a little better at these, maybe this is a good time to share my secrets.
- first off, I make all of my moodboards on my phone. I use two apps to do this: Pixlr and VSCO, but more on that later.
1. First, find your images. I use google search to find most of my images, and I try to avoid using fan-art unless I know the artist and can give proper credit.
2. The key to finding good images is to add the word âaestheticâ at the end of your search. For example: for my Prince Tom moodboard, I searched âprince aestheticâ first, and then used the options that google auto populates to refine my search from there.
3. The standard moodboard is usually 9 images, with some as low as 3. I usually try and find 5-7 images of scenes/items, and then save 2-4 images for my main subject.
- the key here is to find a good mix of items and scenes to go with your theme/colors. The best happen naturally, so you can search for one thing and donât have to dig much further. For my Vamp Tom moodboard, this definitely happened. đ
- If you find yourself stuck, try and picture the scene in front of you. Is there a particular object/food item/feeling you want to convey? From there, you can search those things and find them! For my movie night moodboard, I ended up searching âpopcorn aestheticâ, âjunk food aesthetic,â and âmovie night aestheticâ to get the overall look I was going for. It can take a few tries, but donât give up!!
4. Once you have your 9 images picked, including your main subject, select them and add them to a separate album in your phone so they donât get lost. I have an album just for moodboards in mine.
- you can go through your images and crop them into squares if you want, but with Pixlr I donât find that necessary.
5. Now that your images are ready, go into Pixlr and select the âcollageâ option. Thereâs a drop-down button at the top that will let you move to your created album, and from there you can select your photos.
6. Once your photos are selected, choose the option that fits all 9 pictures into a 3x3 grid. Each photo will be a square. To move photos around in the order you want them, simply hold down on the photo and then move it over. Scale and manipulate the images as you like, and then click âdoneâ and save the image to your photo library.
7. Now, for VSCO. VSCO makes my life so much easier, because a lot of the photos I find already have filters on them, and using VSCO allows me to put a filter on my moodboard as a whole and blend 9 photos into one seamless image.
8. Upload your photo, and then go to the edit feature and select your filter. Trust me, I spend a good 10 minutes on each moodboard just thumbing through filters alone. Iâll usually save my top 3 to my library so I donât lose them, and then from there I pick my final one.
And thatâs it!! Thatâs my process! I hope this helped, and feel free to shoot me a message should you have any more questions. Love ya!! đđ

@dailyreading event #2 â fictional places you want to visit Thisby from The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
â Thisbyâs tiny: four thousand people on a rocky crag jutting from the sea, hours from the mainland. Itâs all cliffs and horses and sheep and one-track roads winding past treeless fields to Skarmouth, the largest town on the island. â
