it’s fear that’s making her snap at him—jones is hard edges and bitter words, but he’s met enough people like her to know why she is like this, even if it leaves him equally unsure what he can say or do to ease her mind. she’s traumatised and angry  ( and not without cause ),  and right now, it’s his job to convince her the bau is not going to fail hope shlottman like someone failed jessica jones.     “  what’s your CONNECTION to—him?  ”     the idea of putting the unsub in the same room, or even in the same building as her makes him visibly uneasy: his words are an opening to help him understand her place.

     ‘ i’m not leaving until he’s brought in. you know why? because he’s not going to listen to any of you. ‘     she’s antsy at best-- a whole year since she thought she killed him, and now he’s got another victim... named Hope. how sardonic. and the way he teased her: sending jessica a reservation card after he took hope out to dinner, a pamphlet from the same hotel he made jessica stay at, it was all vile. 

     she could’ve sworn the street was empty when she jumped down from the five story building, sticking the superhero landing on the way down, leaving minuscule cracks in the cement below her. and yet-- there’s another man, standing close by. great. she doesn’t hide her powers, but she’s not fond of showing them off to strangers, either.      ‘ so, are you gonna run, or call the cops? ‘
