Please tell me he fought back, this suspence is killing me

Uhhhhh he definitely tried to fight back... Everybody dies in the end tho, whoops! It was just a quick au idea that I wasn't expecting anyone to be interested in, so the story is quite short and my doodles for it are less than perfect :p

After Nexus dealt with DS and Ruin, they got a few wither shards thanks to their new found connection to NSP and DS's technology stuff. They put one on their chest, which started to change their body, and one deep within their chest to use in case they would need more power. They're less impulsive and more calculated in this au, so the plan of attack they made was very well thought out.

First they went to Moon's lab when he was alone in there, and they attacked him. Moon tried to put up a fight on his own since they were in his lab and he took Nexus for an imbecile. Nexus played into his assumptions for a bit just to toy with him, but when Moon finally reached for a weapon with PSP instead of his normal stuff, they dropped the act instantly. It didn't take Nexus long to rip Moon to pieces and they were enjoying every second of it. Afterwards they disabled all the protective measures at the Celestial's house.

Then, Nexus made their way to Earth's and Monty's house. Monty tried to call Moon for help, but that turned out futile, so he grabbed his shotgun and tried to kill Nexus on his own. When he used up all his bullets, there was no other option than to try his hand at close combat which didn't end well for him. With Monty dead, Nexus made their way to Earth's room who was journaling while listening to music, completely unaware of what happened downstairs. Nexus sneaked right behind her without being noticed, and dropped Monty's head onto her desk. Shortly after, Earth's security mode took over, which kinda disappointed Nexus because they were hoping they'd get to scream at each other during the fight. Nexus still said what they wanted to say, even though they were unsure if she can hear it. After killing her, they cleaned themselve up in the now quiet house (it's all about the presentation!) and went to the Celestial's place.

They had no trouble entering the house since they already disabled all the security and they knew where every family member is at the moment. They went to the kids' room first, knowing that they are asleep and unguarded. This was supposed to be more of a mercy kill since Nexus didn't blame them for anything. They made their deaths quick and painless. Only Jack woke up for a second, just to catch a glimpse of his killer before it all went dark.

Afterwards, Nexus went to Solar's room, the only other person alive in the house at the moment. They didn't give him a fighting chance since they saw Solar as a dead man walking, someone they already grieved and now they just need to kill the empty shell. So they made him kneel and immobilize him with the NSP before killing him. Though they didn't really care to make it as quick and painless as with the kids.

Then, they waited for Sun to return from the theater.

It was long and heated fight, though only one of them was really prepared for it. Nexus made sure to be fully fire resistant, but it didn't stop Sun from trying to use his magic, it was all he had after all. When Sun learned that Nexus already killed most of the family, including Dazzle, he stopped trying to talk sense into Nexus. Near the end, even though Nexus had an upper hand and enough power to win, they started to use the 'emergency' wither shard in their chest because Sun's words started to mess with their head. Because of this blinding rage and the overwhelming power that was now coursing through their body, they started to breathe fire. But their body didn't have time to adapt to such thing, so their mouth sustained some damage. For them, however, it no longer mattered. Sun died then, staring into Nexus' rage filled eyes, yet thinking only of the family he had managed neither to protect nor to avenge.

Lunar was with astrals during this time, and died from Nexus' hand few days later, when Nexus connected with the wither storm and started attacking the whole dimension. This was the only fight during which Nexus sustained fair amount of damage.

Tbh, I wasn't going to post this comic since I couldn't bother to clean it up and add details, and it looks messy af, and I kinda just made it to get this scene out of my mind... But might as well, I suppose!

In this au Dark Sun "accidentally" makes Nexus overdose on negative star power shortly after taking them to his pocket dimension, kinda to make them more numb/angry and kinda just to torture them. Unknowingly to DS, the accident somehow made Nexus more lucid and gave them a better connection to the power, but they still need wither shards to actually achieve the level of power they desire.

Nexus catches Ruin in the act of putting the bomb into their chest and makes him explode instead. They act in front of DS as though they're unaware that he was the one who orchestrated the whole thing and just pretend that they're only angry at Ruin. Of course DS thinks of Nexus very lowly so he believes that Ruin just messed it up and that Nexus is still unaware that he's trying to manipulate them.

And after Nexus gathers enough power, they decide to give DS a taste of his own medicine, just in a bit more hands-on way :]
