Aroace culture is writing platonic relationships or qprs in the sense of “This dynamic with at least one character has all the usual signs of someone being deeply in love” but it’s NOT romantic. They don’t want to fuck or kiss that other character. They view them as a reason to live and someone they know will always have their back. They think about them all the time and keep things that remind them of the other character, and they want to be close to them and have them know how much they care they care about them.

They get flustered and red-faced about telling them how much they care about them and end up keeping it to themselves but it’s not “Ohhh they have a crush!!!!1! They’re nervous because they’re in love!!!” It’s because their entire life to this point has conditioned them to be embarrassed about having feelings or caring about people at all and they’re worried they’ll be judged for it or that the other person will make fun of them

And dynamics like this will always be 1000x more interesting than romance to me
