see i like whitsantos as any regular pitt fan but sometimes i can really tell that they are baby’s first platonic m/f relationship in fandom because why are so many of these headcanons depicting them to be this close and comfortable around each other. it’s almost relationship-y and often very ooc specifically for trinity. (and i’m not talking about fanon joyposting, you do you, i’m talking about people’s genuine headcanons and ideas about what their relationship would be like)
she might be able to joke with him and i’m sure they are learning more about each other because of the proximity, but she clearly struggles with having another person in her house. yes, they watch tv somewhat amicably and they like living together even if they would never say it out loud. but they are both still quite awkward around one another and trinity barely ever tells him an honest feeling unless he literally pries it out of her. and considering trinity has a history of sexual assault and harmful behavior by men, she’s still gonna cautious and attempt distance(even if she’s kinda bad at it).
she likes him, yes, of course she does. but she clearly doesn’t show that unless it accidentally slips out. she doesn’t even call him dennis, why would she ever call him ‘denny’, cuddle him, or be naked around him?
their whole charm is that they are so close but struggle to show it due to their varied personal histories and personalities. and that’s what i like about them! she did him this huge favour after barely knowing him and probably saved him by giving him a house. he’s so kind but not very socialised considering he grew up on a farm with a big family and then was blasted into homelessness. he hates being a bother in any way especially after what trinity did for him. meanwhile trinity is incredibly kindhearted too but very traumatised after the assault and abuse she’s been through. all of this makes their communication stunted and difficult. it’s complicated! the fact that she would probably struggle to even refer to him as her friend(let alone best friend, which he probably is), is what makes it all so fun and interesting. you’re taking away their juice by making them so comfortable and normal around each other
big fan of whatever dynamic they’ve got going on in particular
I love garcia and santos but i am not a fan of garsantos fics bc people keeping trying to turn garcia into a yearning lover girl when that is most def not her. #letgarciabeafuckboy2026

pittsburgh gets cold in november
"It feels so appropriate to be here at work with the rest of the squad."
my only religious belief is that there is no afterlife except for the ublock origin team who are going to heaven and the youtube anti-adblock team who are going to hell
sometimes i get sad about the fact that the fandom is so wrapped up in made-up drama with no basis in reality and discourse about fanon that there is almost NO conversation about the ACTUAL political parts of the pitt. so much criticism and no actual discussion of the pitt’s points about ice, about misdiagnosis of women and poc, about the fucked up insurance systems in the us, about deportations, about child abuse, about mental health, about suicide, about addiction, about federal funding cuts towards programs that benefit people of color, LIKE. you wanna talk about the pitt’s politics but instead of talking about ANY of that you wanna make shit up instead oh okay
this scene was truly so important for those with issues

Emma Nolan is not Hispanic, she’s a francophone.
Her actress, Laëtitia (Leh-tea-see-a) Hollard is a from Guadeloupe and identifies as Afro-Caribbean. Guadeloupe is a French creole speaking country in the Lesser Antilles islands of the Caribbean.
When Emma is speaking french with Princess in episode 1 it’s not because Emma took French throughout high school and college, it’s because that’s the language she speaks at home with her family. Laëtitia has said in interviews that her background of growing up Caribbean in Wisconsin deeply influences the story we get with Emma Nolan.
So please let’s do some research before people just go erasing a Black Caribbean woman’s Creole identity when y’all write her.
I’m from Saint Lucia myself, and being an Afro-Caribbean Creole woman as well I feel very protective of her identity in this fandom.
I know many have never even heard of Black Francophones or Creole people in the Caribbean outside of Haiti but trust me there’s a lot of us, you just have to look.
We can have the discussion about whether or not people consider Francophones Latinas another day

happy july 4th aka canonical pitt season two day; give it up for everyone on that shift who had a terrible time
I'm thinking again of how much of a waste it was that season two didn't explore the Robby-Samira-Langdon nexus. There were a million ways the season could have been better with only minor changes and shifts in focus, but I'm also now thinking of a different version of this story, where Robby's total ambivalence towards Samira's career prospects – the lack of interest in discussing what she actually wants, the pushing her towards something that doesn't interest her, the encouraging her to settle for something noncompetitive that he clearly doesn't respect, the failure to offer her actual help or even just question why she wanted to go to Abbot instead of him – was reframed as being connected to how supportive he was of Langdon's pursuit of an explicitly competitive fellowship and how deeply he felt let down. As if he's unwilling to demonstrate that kind of faith in a resident again.
It wouldn't even need that huge changes, but it would have made far more sense than the nonsensical thing they did, where Robby went from being so reactive to Samira to barely noticing she's alive, and it would have demonstrated some actual consequences for the workplace relationships as a result of Langdon's actions beyond just Robby and Santos. But instead...Robby became much warmer and nicer towards his pet favourites in season two than he ever was in season one, he got more distant from Samira for no reason whatsoever, and the whole thing makes progressively less sense the more I think about it.
free my girl she did all that and that’s what makes her such a compellingly complex character. that’s her essence
it’s actually both of them

dr. trinity santos // dog years by halsey
digital painting, june 2026
my big problem with Santos is that it's clear that she isn't motivated by her ethical/moral oath as a physician. in general, this is evident yes, but it's particularly so when it comes to Langdon and the drug diversion. she decided on her first day that she would hate him forever and she made that wound that he unfairly caused her carve something much bigger and deeper. THAT is why she reported it to Robby. she wanted revenge, she wanted vindication, she wanted applause. she didn't want any kind of justice or to prevent any kind of harm to patients or the staff or the hospital. it was personal, and it still is personal.
Santos isn't a good person, and it has nothing to do with her being in what is increasingly clear is a mental crisis. she isn't empathetic to an addict in recovery, someone who took accountability, owned up to his mistakes, is trying (even if he's fumbling or failing) to take the right steps for himself and his patients and his peers. because she's too focused on how she is hurting, on what's going on in her head, her worries and concerns and fears and insecurities. she's so consumed with drowning herself in that bad headspace she's in and so determined to make herself continue to feel every negative part of what being in that mentality does to her that it effects how she does every part of her job. she is dismissive to her patients, routinely not listening to them unless she recognizes something of herself in them (which vanishes the second she stops recognizing it), she acts like a school yard bully to her fellow staff: the name calling and being snappy and cutting to her peers and attendings, and she's been like this since her first day. because to Santos, all she can see is how everything effects her, and she really truly does not care what it's doing to everyone else around her.
which is not only selfish, but it's willfully blind. it ties her hands as a physician whose job is to provide care to people having the Worst Day Of Their Lives. it distances her from her peers and her attendings because she's so busy picking at her own wounds and soaking in her fears and insecurities and mental crisis that she deliberately choses not to prioritize or value anyone other than herself, which prevents her from beginning and growing much needed social and working relationships, as well as denies her crucial learning spaces and growth as a person and a doctor.
i understand and truly empathize with her, because it's clear that she's just as tormented by her own demons as Robby is by his. she's afraid that she's not good enough of a doctor, something that pre-existed before Langdon yelled at her, she hates that she's so keenly aware of that and feels that fear is a vulnerability that she is both disgusted and ashamed of, so much that she's erected walls around herself that are covered in barbed wire to prevent anyone from getting close to her so they can't see how much hurt and fear her pride and callous approach to everything is actually hiding. and she is hurting. but she refuses to do anything but pick at those wounds and make them worse, drowning herself in those same anxieties and angers, and then lashes out and bullies everyone around her because it's the healthiest option she has at hand for excising that emotion. thus far, she doesn't seem to want to do the work in therapy to actually deal with any of it, so she just. takes it out on everyone around her.
she blames the people around her, in her heart, for not praising her, for not reassuring her that she's doing the right thing, for not exalting her. because she feels like that's what she wants, for everyone around her to seek her approval, to seek her friendship and companionship, but she in no way wants to initiate any kind of warmth or kindness or friendliness for anyone. she just wants it handed to her. she wants to be lauded and for everyone to be in awe of her skills as a doctor, and to be clear, she is very skilled. but in an occupation that's as much about knowing people as it is about knowing medicine/chemistry/science, she doesn't give a fuck about people.
idk man. i liked her in season one, but this season i've grown to really detest and pity her as a character. she wants things to be handed to her because she's so exhausted from fighting her own headspace all the time, and she's in a terrible place mentally, but she has no empathy for anyone but herself or people she sees herself in, up until the point she stops seeing herself in them. i want her to heal, because i always root for characters and for people to heal the trauma that haunts them, i always want others to feel better, to live better. but at the end of the day, even if and when she's done the work and gotten into a better place, she still won't be a good person because she doesn't care about anyone but herself.
