i'm sure most of you must've heard about the earthquakes in venezuela yesterday (june 24th). the magnitudes were 7.2 and 7.5 respectively; while felt throughout the country the most affected zones have been la guaira and caracas, with some places being reduced to dust and the number of injures and casualties climbing up. this is not a country that's prepared to deal with any, let alone this, kind of emergency, so any help that could be extended to us would be really appreciated.

I must admit, I do get extremely irritated at how strong people will defend white racists of their actions on here (usually shielding behind other marginalization) and throw out words like "harassment" and "digital lynching" and will try to gaslight users of color into thinking that we just... Didn't see what happened. That we don't understand racism when we experience it.
Especially when I see myself and other more vocal users of color get harassed daily, and have to always be on guard with their social media, and no one cares because everyone prioritizes white voices here and spend no time with the rest of us via an actual, unspoken segregation of this app. But somehow we don't know what racism and harassment looks like.
So when you say "hey, this person's opinion was not an okay thing to say/their actions were not okay due to racism and I am not coddling that", you get hit with a bunch of people who believe that having "More White Voices must mean True and that Your People Did Not Experience what y'all did... Because the white people around me said it went this way! You're just Mean!!!"
Like ofc that's the perspective you heard, those are the only people you're ever around on here, and it doesn't benefit you to understand what racism actually looks like in action. So. Just irritating af.
Bc ain't no way I've experienced the range of directed racism on here, damn near every two days this year on this app, and I gotta sit here and listen to how someone being racist is actually the True Victim. That people who spend all their time la di da happy and unbothered and surrounded by fellow racists and/or complicit yet ignorant bystanders... I will never, and I mean never, tolerate white Europeans acting high and mighty about racism; it's not just an American thing. Racism, especially anti-Blackness, is a global issue. People in the U.S., U.K., Brazil, and Singapore can now share videos and chat with friends directly within the YouTube app. The update bring
This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.
If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.
This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.
To turn this off:
Go to your youtube app settings
Go to Privacy
Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"
Trimming the source id (the stuff after the '?' in links) will also prevent this from happening.

The reporting on it has been terrible but I want to be clear about the Belfast riots from someone who lives here: the distinction of it being British loyalists who have dismembered people for calling them Irish doing the rioting does matter, not least because, in contrast to what knuckle dragging settlers on social media would have you believe, ‘the Irish’ have literally been patrolling the streets to protect migrants. Racism absolutely exists amongst Irish communities as well, but I need all of you to understand that in this specific instance you are doing more harm than good by spreading the false notion that ‘both communities’ are coming together in these riots and by contributing to the British press’s refusal to name loyalist paramilitaries as still a major problem in this city.
I genuinely do not like fandoms or consider myself to be a part of them. They are hotbeds for racism and bigotry. As a black person, I simply don't have it in me to tolerate this type of BS anymore.
