My far fetched theory (desperate hope) is that the bodies of the og lyctors’ cavaliers are kept on the ninth house “prison” - the whole of the ninth is a tomb, is it not? Mercy’s body is gone, but maybe her revenant can attach to Cristabel under the permeability of the soul premise. We know something like that is possible because of Prince Ianthe Naberius. Please please please Tamsyn, I need her back so bad.

Oooh I can definitely see John or the Lyctors having the foresight to necromatically preserve all the cavs bodies, maybe as backups for an extra layer of redundancy if a Lyctor died or with the hope that they could somehow figure out how to bring them back someday. If a Lyctor’s revenant could find their cavs body, I imagine it would be pretty easy to attach since the Lyctors already carry the souls of their cavs, so the body would already be sort of familiar to their soul. Or alternatively, if John was somehow able to fish the Lyctors soul out of the river and commit resurrection, maybe they could go right into their cavs body without needing their old lyctor body anymore (obviously it’s extremely unlikely that John would ever do that, but still) And The Ninth being a tomb for the cavs also makes sense thematically, since Alecto was presented as a cavalier to John and that’s where she was put. I really like this theory!
