I just think it's so fucking raggedy that we as a society have to advocate so fucking firmly for disabled people to be accepted and then some privileged, able bodied white woman can just jump up and invalidate all the work we have put in. Like cool! Cool.
Context: Kathleen Stock (The Times) just published this cracked ass fucking article about how young women using walking sticks and mobility aids are essentially experiencing mass hysteria and don't actually need them. Girl, fuck you. I hope it never happens to you. Imagine being offended that women half your age are getting the assistance they need because YOUR generation worked against disabled people for so motherfucking long.
Also guess what! As much as disability pride exists, disability mortification does, too. Do you think it's fun being hot and fun and in your 20s and having some days where you have to call your husband to bring you your cane to get to and from the bathroom to your bed? Or have to ask him to carry you up the stairs? Do you know what it's like to be so dizzy in a store you have to sit on the fucking floor or the bottom shelf in an aisle for a bit to get your balance back? Follow up: do you know what it feels like to use a cane in public? People stare. They whisper. They veer far around you, give you a wide berth, and they shift their gaze to the floor the second you make eye contact. It is frustrating and mortifying. And it sucks fucking ass. So if you think it's a trend, or it's fun, or for attention? Fuck yourself. And in the meantime, thank god it's never been you.

"retiring for the evening" is a very useful concept lol we should be free to say "i'm not gonna be chatting anymore tonight" without then having to pretend to be asleep. if we ever talk and you say goodnight don't stress it if i see you online later hahahahah
